Twenty20 Games has witnessed only two instances of a team winning the game by a margin of 150 plus runs. The record for winning the game by large margin of runs is 172 runs. It was achieved by Sri Lanka when it trounced Kenya at Johannesburg on 14.09.07. This game was one of the T20 International World Cup game. The second instance of a victory margin of 150 plus runs was achieved by Northerners when it trounced Southerners by 158 runs at Harare on 19.03.08. There are 28 instances of a team winning the game by 100 plus runs in the history of T20 Games

T20 games have witnessed 16 instances of a team winning the game without losing a wicket, that is, winning the game by ten wickets

There are two instances of a team winning the game with 85 plus balls remaining. In the first edition of IPL, Mumbai won by eight wickets with 87 balls left against Kolkata at Mumbai on 16.05.08, which is a record win with most balls remaining, The other victory with 85 plus balls remaining was achieved when Jamaica won the game by nine wickets with 85 balls left against Bermuda at Coolidge on 21.07.06

As many as 26 matches have been won with one run margin in Twenty20 Games. T20 Internationals has witnessed two games won by two runs, South Africa victory over Australia at Johannesburg by two wickets on 24.02.06 and Sri Lanka’s victory over England at Southampton on 15.06.06 are the two instances. There have been no instances of one run victory in Twenty20 Internationals.

One wicket victory has been achieved in twelve Twenty20 matches. As many as 40 Twenty20 games have been won on the last ball of the match. Two Twenty20 Internationals were won on the last ball of the match – New Zealand beat India five wickets at Wellington on 27.02.09 and Netherlands beat England by four wickets at Lord’s on 05.06.09. Lord’s game was one of the ICCT20 games of 2009

Twenty20 games have witnessed as many as 14 games ended in a tie in which “bowl out” was used. These 14 games include three games of Twenty20 Internationals, viz., New Zealand vs West Indies at Auckland on 16.02.06, India vs Pakistan at Durban on 14.09.07, and Canada vs Zimbabwe at King City on 11.10.08.

Abandoned matches in T20 games are a long list comprising of 73 matches. This list contains the two abandoned T20 International game – England vs South Africa at Chester-le-Street on 20.08.08 and England vs Australia at Manchester on 01.09.09

250 plus runs in a T20 game has been registered on two occasions. Sri Lanka’s 260 for 6 against Kenya at Johannesburg on 14.09.07 remains the highest team total registered not only in T20 games but also in T20 Internationals. The other occasion of 250 plus was registered by Somerset when it posted a total of 250 for 3 against Gloucestershire on 27.06.06.

There are only three instances of team all out after posting 200 plus runs in T20 games, The three instances are – 210 all out by Sialkot Stallions against Lahore Eagles at Lahore on 07.07.2004, 205 by Faisalabad Wolves against Lahore Eagles at Karachi on 28.02.06 and 200 all out by Somerset against Gloucestershire at Bristol on 07.07.06

There is only one instance of rival teams registering 200 plus runs in T20 Internationals and the game between South Africa vs West Indies at Johannesburg on 11.09.07 witnessed this instance. West Indies batting first scored 205 for 6 in 20.0 overs and South Africa in reply made 209 for 2 in 17.4 overs.

Apart from these two occasions, there are ten more instances of a team posting 200 plus runs in Twenty20 Internationals

Only two teams have registered 220 plus totals while batting second. 222 for 3 by Northants against Worcestershire at Kidminster on 29.06.07 and 220 for 4 by Central Districts against Otago on 27.01.06 are the two instances. The former total of 222 for 3 was in a losing cause.

Match aggregates of 425 runs have been witnessed on eight occasions in T20 Games. 449 runs in the match between Worcestershire and Northamptonshire at Kidderminster on 29.06.07. The next best of 447 was witnessed in Indian Premier League first edition. 447 runs were scored in the game between Punjab and Chennai at Mohali on 19.04.08

Sialkot Stallions of Pakistan have a stupendous record of registering twenty consecutive wins. Next best team is Surrey with 13 consecutive wins. Most consecutive games with out a win is 14 games and is credited to Quetta bears of Pakistan

Lowest completed innings in a T20 game is 47 registered by Titans vs Eagles at Centurion on 28.04.04. This remains the only occasion of a team all out for less than 50 runs in T20 games.

Most hundreds in a series is six and was witnessed in Indian Permier League 2007-08 edition. There have been four occasions of five hundreds – Twenty20 Cup {England} – 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008.

Rival batsmen – GA Hick {110} for Worcestershire and Lance Klusener {111} for Northamptonshire at Kidderminster on 29.06.08 provide the lone instance of rival batsmen registering hundreds in T20 games.

Incidentally, GA Hick and L Klusener were opening the innings for their respective teams, providing the only instance of rival openers registering hundreds in T20 games

There is only one instance of nine batsmen reaching double figures in an innings of a T20 game. It occurred during the Central District’s innings of 180 for 8 against Auckland at New Plymouth on 30.01.08.

There is only instance of all the eleven batsmen made single digits in an innings of a T20 game. It occurred during the Titan’s innings of 47 against Eagles at Centurion on 28.04.04

Kenya in its innings of 73 had six of its batmen dismissed for zeroes against New Zealand at Durban on 12.09.07, which stands as a record for most zeroes in an innings of a T20 game. This is also a record for a T20 International and also for the T20 World Cup game.

As many as five matches have witnessed six batsmen dismissed for zeroes. Kenya’s six zeroes against New Zealand at Durban on 12.09.07 is a T20 International and also for the T20 World Cup game.

17 boundary sixes were scored by Essex batsmen against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 is the record for most boundary sixes scored in by a team in a T20 game.

31 boundary fours scored by Somerset batsmen against Glamorgan at Cardiff on 18.06.03 is the record for most boundary fours scored by a team in a T20 game

26 boundary sixes scored in the match between Central Districts against Auckland at New Plymouth on 30.01.08 is the record for most boundary sixes in a match {by both teams} in a T20 game

55 boundary fours scored in the match between Glamorgan and Somerset at Cardiff on 18.06.03 is the record for most boundary fours in a match {by both teams} in a T20 game

190 runs {22 fours and 17 sixes} registered by Essex against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 is the record for most runs in an innings through boundary fours and sixes registered by a team in T20 games.

312 runs {42 fours and 24 sixes} registered in the match between Worcestershire and Northamptonshire at Kidderminster on 29.06.07 is the record for most runs in a match {by both teams} through boundary four and sixes in T20 games

There are only nine instances of rival team’s batsmen posting a three figure partnerships in T20 games.

There are six instances of “Extras” being the highest scorer in a completed innings in T20 games. The record for highest number of Extras is 29 in West Indies innings of 131 for seven in 20 overs against South Africa at Johannesburg on 18.01.08. This is also a record in a T20 International game.

The record for most extras conceded in an innings is 40 in a T20 game – conceded by Sialkot Stallions against Lahore Eagles at Lahore on 26.04.05

Eight batsmen have an aggregate of 1500 runs in T20 games. They are BJ Hodge {2288}, DJ Hussey {2053}, HD Ackerman {1463}, GC Smith {1723}, BB McCullum {1695}, IJL Trott {1617}, M van Jaarseveld {1573} and ST Jayasuriya {1547}. BJ Hadge and DJ Hussey are the only two batsmen to have an aggregate of 2000 plus runs in T20 games. BJ Hodge’s 2288 runs is the record aggregate in T20 games.

JP Duminy {1488} and HH Gibbs {1483} need 12 and 17 runs respectively for an aggregate of 1500 runs in T20 games.

Only two batsmen have registered 150 plus runs in T20 Games. They are BB McCullum – 158 not out for Kolkata Knight Riders against Bangalore Royal Challengers at Bangalore on 18.04.08 and GR Napier – 152 not out for Essex against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08.

As many as 57 hundreds have been registered in T20 games. IJ Harvey owns the record for most hundreds with three hundreds, while GA Hick, A Symonds and CL White have registered two hundreds,

Ashfaq Ahmed {99 not out for Lahore Eagles against Rawalpindi Rams at Karachi on 27.02.06} and Salman Butt {99 not out for Lahore Lions against Quetta Bears at Lahore on 04.10.08} are the only two batsmen who have registered 99 not out in T29 Games, As of now there are no instances of a batsmen dismissed on 99 in T20 games.

RT Ponting has the distinction of registering the first ever ninety in T20 Internationals. He remained not out on 98 against New Zealand at Auckland on 17.02.05

T20 games have witnessed 59 instances of batsmen registering nineties. HH Gibbs holds the record for most nineties in one day game by registering nineties on three separate occasions. BJ Hodge, JL Langer, KC Sangakkara. MJ Wood, NK Patel and VS Solanki are the six batsmen who have registered nineties on two separate occasions.

TM Dilshan is the only batsman to aggregate 1000 runs in a calendar year. He has so far aggregated 1002 runs in the current calendar year 2009.

Cameron White’s 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 remains the highest individual score in a losing cause in T20 games. Chris Gayle’s 117 for West Indies against South Africa at Johannesburg on 11.09.07 remains the highest individual score in a losing cause in T20 Internationals.

As many as eleven hundreds – including the two hundreds by Cameron White and Chris Gayle – have gone in vain in T20 games.

IJL Trott {841 runs at Edgbaston}, GA Hick {640 at New Road, Worcester}, MR Ramprakash {614 runs at The Oval} and MB Loye {613 at Manchester} are the only four batsmen in T20 games who have an aggregate of 600 plus runs at a specific ground.

Cameron White’s 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 remains the highest individual score by a captain in T20 games. Apart from this, there are eleven instance of a captain registering a hundred in T20 games.

Cameron White remains the only captain in T20 games to register two separate hundreds. He scored 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 and 116 not out for Somerset against Gloucestershire at Taunton on 27.06.06.

T20 games have witnessed eight instances of a captain registering nineties. VS Solanki of Worcestershire and NK Patel of Gujarat have the distinction of registering two separate nineties. Ricky Ponting of Australia who scored 98 not out in the first ever T20 International at Auckland on 21.02.05 has the highest individual score among the batsmen who have registered nineties in T20 games

Moin Khan {112 for Karachi Dolphins against Lahore Lions at Lahore on 25.04.05} and AC Gilchrist {109 not out for Hyderabad against Mumbai at Mumbai on 27.04.08} are the only two wicket keeper batsmen who have registered hundreds in T20 games. Moin Khan’s 112 remains the highest individual score by a wicket keeper batsmen in T20 games,

PD McGlashan, KC Sangakkara {twice}, AB de Villers, ADS Fletcher and Bazid Khan are the five wicket keeper batsmen who have registered nineties in T20 games.

Moin Khan’ with his 112 for Karachi Dolphins against Lahore Lions at Lahore on 25.04.05 remains the only batsman in T20 games to register a hundred on T20 debut.

CKB Kulashekhara. BJ Hodge, A Symonds, CK Kapugedera, P McGlashan, BS Wilson and JL Langer are the seven batsmen who have registered nineties on debut in T20 games.

IJ Harvey has the distinction of registering most hundreds – three – in T20 Games. A Symonds, CL White and GA Hick are the three batsmen who have two hundreds to their credit.

BJ Hodge {18}, HD Ackerman {17}, GA Hick {12}, DL Maddy {12}, G Gambhir {12}, JP Duminy {12}, HH Gibbs {12}, DJ Hussey {12}, ML Hayden {11}, BB McCullum {11} and M van Jaarsveld {11} are the eleven batsmen who have registered eleven or more fifties in T20 games. BJ Hodge with 18 fifties leads the table.

BJ Hodge and HD Ackerman share the record for most half centuries in T20 games. Both batsmen have scored 17 half centuries.

A Symonds has the distinction of registering the fastest hundred in terms of balls. He scored the fastest hundred in 34 balls while batting for Kent against Middlesex at Maidstone in 2004.

JL Denly of Kent and LA Carseldinge have registered most consecutive fifties – four – in T20 games. MP Maynard, Shoiab Malik, Sunny Singh, DJ Hussey, LL Bosman, SE Marsh, MA Carberry, HD Ackerman, JP Duminy, TM Dilshan {twice}, MA Vermeulen, JO Trougton, JB Allenby, MJ Lumb, AD Brown and Shahid Afridi are the sixteen batsmen who have scored three consecutive fifties in T20 games.

TM Dilshan remains the only batsman in the history of T20 games to register three consecutive fifties on two occasions.

Yuvraj Singh has the distinction of registering the fastest fifty in T20 games. He scored the fastest fifty in 12 balls while batting for India against England at Durban on 19.09.07.

Shoaib Malik and JN Batty have played 54 and 51 T20 matches respectively so far and are yet to score a zero. Shoaib Mailik remains the only batsman who has not scored a zero after playing exact 50 innings,

BJ Hodge and SB Styris appeared in 61 and 56 matches respectively before they collected their first duck in T20 matches. BJ Hodge holds the record of playing most number of innings before collecting his first duck. BJ Hodge and SB Styris are the only two batsmen in the history of T20 games to collect their first duck after playing 50 plus games.

HH Gibbs holds the record for most ducks – 12 – in T20 games. MJ Lumb with nine ducks to his credit is the next in the list of batsmen who have most ducks in T20 games.

EC Joyce has the distinction of scoring first zero of T20 games. He failed to open his account in the game between Surrey and Middlesex at The Oval on 13.06.03. He was caught by wicket keeper Batty of the bowling of Ormond of the very first ball he faced. In other words, he collected the first ball duck.

DJ Hussey {92}, BB McCullum {76}, ST Jayasuriya {74}, Yuvraj Singh {73} and CL White {72} are the five batsmen who have an aggregate of seventy plus boundary sixes in T20 games. DJ Hussey with 92 sixes leads the table.

GR Napier {16}, BB McCullum {13}, ST Jayasuriya {11}, CH Gayle {10} and AC Gilchrist {10} are the five batsmen who have hit ten or more sixes in an innings in T20 games. GR Napier of Essex with his 16 sixes in the game against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 holds the record for most sixes in an innings.

CH Gayle remains the only batsman to hit 10 sixes in a T20 Intenational. His feat came against South Africa at Jo’burg on 11.09.07

GR Napier {10 fours and 16 sixes – 136 runs}, BB McCullum {10 fours and 13 sixes – 118 runs} and ST Jayasuriya {09 fours and 11 sixes – 102 runs} are the only three batsmen who have an aggregate runs of 100 plus through boundary fours and sixes in T20 games. GR Napier holds the record with 136 runs {10 fours and 16 sixes}.

S Rodrige and CH Gayle are the only two batsmen who have carried the bat through the completed innings in T20 games. S Rodrigo with 16 not out in a total of 85 while playing for Ragama against Bloomfield at Colombo-Moors on 08.10.05. CH Gayle scored 63 not out of team total of 101 while playing for West Indies against Sri Lanka at The Oval on 19.06.09. Gayle’s feat came in ICC T20 games played in England in June 2009

Ahmed Hayat of Faisalabad Wolves remains the only batsman in T20 games to be declared out – Obstructing the field”. This incident happened in the game between Faislabad Wolves and Karachi Dolphins at Lahore on 30.04.05. The game was the finals of the ABN-Amro T20 Cup of 2004-05 season in Pakistan. This incident is one of the two “Unusual Dismissal” in T20 games. The other instance is also “obstructing the field”. GACR Perera playing for Basnahira S against Wayamba on 05.04.09 was declared out obstructing the field.

T Henderson {84}, Yasir Arafat {78}, Umar Gul {76}, JA Morkel {76}, AD Mascarenhas {74}, AJ Hall {71} and GR Napier {70} are the seven bowlers who have an aggregate of 70 plus wickets in T20 Games. T Henderson with his 84 wickets holds the record for most wickets in T20 games.

Sohail Tanvir with 6 for 14 has the best figures in T20 games. He achieved this figure while playing for Rajasthan against Chennai at Jaipur on 04.05.08. Apart from Sohail Tanvir, SR Abeywardene, AJ Hall, T Murtagh, Irfanuddin and MG Dighton are the other bowlers who have captured six wickets in T20 games.

S Malinga {38 wkts in 2009}, JA Morkel {32 wkts in 2008}, M Muralitharan {31 in 2009}, Sohail Tanvir {30 wkts in 2008} and T Henderson {30 wkts in 2008} are the five bowlers who have aggregated 30 plus wickets in a calendar year. S Malinga with 38 wickets so far in 2009 holds the record for most wickets in a calendar year.

NM Carter with 34 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham holds the record for most wickets on a single ground in T20 games. He is closely followed by YA Abdulla who has to his credit 33 wickets at Durban.

SB Bangar’s 5 for 16 for Railways against Rajasthan at Jaipur on 06.04.07 remains the best figures by a captain in T20 games. Apart from SB Bangar, LAS Sebastian, AJ Hollioake, Shoaib Akthar, A Jacobs are the bowlers who have captured five wickets while leading their sides.

T20 games have witnessed seventeen instances of captains capturing exact four wickets in an innings . AJ Hollioake and Yousuf Pathan are the only two captains to have captured four more wickets on two occasions.

Irfanuddin {6 for 25 for Karachi Dolphins against Sialkot Stallions at Karachi on 03.03.06} and MG Dighton {6 for 25 for Tasmania against Queensland at Toowoomba on 01.06.07} are the only two bowlers to have captured most wickets – six – in a losing cause in T20 Games.

AJ Hall, AJ Hollioake, DMGS Dissanaake and J Allenby are the four bowlers who have captured five wickets on two occasions in T20 games.

Umar Gul holds the record for most number of four plus wickets in T20 games. He has captured four or more wickets on seven occasions {Six exact four wicket hauls and one five plus wicket hauls}. His six exact four wicket hauls is also a record for most exact four wicket hauls in one day games.

AJ Hollioake, GB Hogg, BJ Phillips, Mohammad Asif, ND Doshi, YK Pathan, AG Botha, E Chigumbura, BAW Mendis and SB Jakati are the ten bowlers who have captured four or more wickets in consecutive games in the history of T20 games

RJ Kirtley with his 4.0-0-67-0 for Sussex against Essex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 holds the records for most expensive bowling in terms of runs conceded in T20 games. Apart from RJ Kirtley, there are thirteen other bowlers who have conceded 60 plus runs in T20 games.

T Henderson and DD Masters hold the record for most maiden over bowled in their career. Both the bowlers have bowled six maiden overs.

MG Dighton of Tasmania has returned with the best bowling figures on T20 debut. He captured six for 25 against Queensland at Toowoomba on 01.06.07

DMGS Dassanayake, J Alenby, AJ Hollioake and AJ Hall are the only four bowlers who have captured five plus wickets on two occasions in T20 games.

There are 26 instances of a bowler performing a Hat trick in T20 games. AD Mascarenhas was the first bowler to perform the Hattrick in T20 games. Representing Hampshire, he achieved the feat against Sussex at Hove in 2004. Bret Lee remains the only bowler to perform the Hattrick in T20 Internationals. He achieved the feat against Bangladesh at Capetown in 2007

Apart from holding the record for most expensive bowling in terms of runs with his figures of 4.0-0-67-0, RJ Kirtley also halds the most expensive bowling figures without a wicket. Apart from RJ Kirtley who has conceded 60 plus runs without a wicket, there are eight other bowlers who have conceded 60 plus runs without a wicket.

MN van Wyk and Kamran Akmal share the record for most dismissals by a wicket keeper in T20 games. Both the wicket keepers have to their credit 58 dismissals – MN van Wyk {44 ct plus 14 st} – Kamran Akmal {26 ct plus 32 st}

Kamran Akmal holds the record for most stumpings in T20 games. He has effected 32 stumping dismissals.

EFMU Fernando of Lankan CC has the record for most dismissals behind the wicket in T20 games. He effected seven dismissals – all caught – against Moores at Col-Bloomfield on 09.10.05.

M van Jaarsveld {48} and DJ Hussey {42} are the two fieldsmen {excluding wicket keepers} to pouch 40 plus catches in T20 games. M van Jaarsveld with 48 catches to his credit holds the record for most catches in T20 games.

186 runs partnership for the second wicket between JL Langer and CL White for Somerset against Gloucestershire at Taunton on 27.06.06 remains the highest three figure partnership in T20 games. Apart from this stand, there are ten partnerships of 150 plus runs in T20 games. Exact 200 three figure partnerships have been posted in T20 games.
