AB de Villiers of South Africa scored eleven boundary sixes in his knock of 119 in the final one-day game against India on 25.10.15 to provide the eleventh occasion of a batsman scoring eleven or more boundary sixes in a one-day innings in the annals of one day games. AB de Villiers is the only batsman in the history of one-day game to score eleven boundary sixes in an innings on two occasions. He had scored 16 boundary sixes in his knock of 149 against West Indies at Johannesburg on 18.01.15. AB de Villiers is also the only captain in the annals of one-day game to score eleven or more boundary sixes in an innings.

AB de Villiers had an aggregate of 94 boundary sixes as captain prior to the final game against India at Mumbai. With eleven boundary sixes in the final one day game, his boundary sixes aggregate read 105. He became the fourth captain in the annals of one-day games to score 100 plus sixes. Others are – RT Ponting {123}, MS Dhoni {117} and SC Ganguly {115}

AB de Villiers  is the second captain to score ten or more sixes in one-day innings. AD Mathews of Sri Lanka has scored ten boundary sixes against India at Ranchi on 16.11.2014. His feat of eleven sixes at Mumbai against India on 25.10.15 provide the third occasion of a captain scoring ten or more sixes in an innings in the history of one day games
