India posted two three figure partnerships in the fourth one day game against Sri Lanka – 219 for the third wicket between RG Sharma – V Kohli and 101 runs unfinished partnership for the sixth wicket between MK Pandey-MS Dhoni. These two three figure partnerships gave India 400 three figure partnerships. Thus India became the first team in the history of one day games to post 400 three figure partnerships. The following table list the seven batsmen who have scored a double century and a century in a test. There are seven such occasions which includes two occasions of a batsman scoring a treble century and a century in a test – GA Gooch and  KS Sangakkara. The list includes the Indian legend SM Gavaskar who had scored 124 and 220 against West Indies at Port of Spain in Apr 1971. It is interesting to note that SM Gavaskar is the only batsman in the annals of test cricket to score a century in the first innings and a double century in the second innings of a test.
