This feat of Q de Kock and HM Amla as openers scoring centuries  on four occasions constitute a world record for the same pair of both openers scoring centuries in the same innings. They went past the previous record of SC Ganguly and SR Tendulkar who had scored centuries as opening pair on three occasions. The feats of these two pairs are tabulated below

The previous record was with England  when it chased a target of 255 runs against Sri Lanka at Birmingham on 24.06.16.
