Afghanistan lost its debut test against India at Bengaluru in Jun 2018  by an innings and 262 runs to provide the third occasion of a team on its debut losing the test by an innings margin. The  other two occasions are  – West Indies losing its debut test at Lord’s against England in Jun 1928 by an innings and 58 runs and Pakistan losing its debut test against India at Delhi in Oct 1952 by an innings and 70 runs. Thus Afghanistan became the second team to lose its debut test by an innings margin against India after Pakistan.
