AJ Finch of Australia owns the record for most fifties by a captain opener in the history of Twenty20 Internationals.

RG Sharma’s 85 in the second T20I against Bangladesh at Rajkot on 07.11.19 was his sixth score of fifty as captain opener in T20Is. He emulated AJ Finch of Australia who had also scored six fifties as captain opener in T20Is. The following table list the fifties scored by these two batsmen.  But the very next day, that is on 08.11.19, AJ Finch owned the record for most fifties by captain openers in T20Is with his seventh fifty – 52 not out against Pakistan at Perth. This is clear example of how the records are obliterated so fast the game of cricket. This is mainly due to many teams are involved in the  games across the world
