There are 93 occasions of a team posting a total of 200 plus runs. IPL has witnessed 35 occasions of a team scoring 100 and less than 100 runs in a completed innings. Bangalore’s 49 all out in 9.4 overs against Kolkata at Kolkata on 23.04.17 is the lowest total registered by a team in a completed innings in the tournament. It also provides the lone occasions of a team dismissed for a total less than 50 runs in the tournament. Delhi has been dismissed for a total of less than 100 runs in a completed innings on ten occasions and owns the record for a team dismissed most times for a total of 100 and less than 100 runs in the tournament. Bangalore and Mumbai share the joint second place with five occasions each.

There are nine occasions of s team winning a game by 100 plus runs, eleven occasions of a team winning a game without losing a wicket and six occasions of a team winning a game by 50 plus balls remaining in the second innings.  There are ten occasions of a team winning a game by one run margin, three occasions of a team winning a game by one wicket margin and six occasions of a team winning a game by two wickets margin. IPL has witnessed nine Tied matches and 26 occasions of a match won on the last ball.

Thirteen batsmen have scored 20 plus fifties in the tournament with DA Warner scoring most fifties – 48 {04 centuries and 44 half centuries}. Eight Indian batsmen and five Overseas batsmen share the honour of scoring 20 plus fifties. V Kohli with 41 fifties {05 centuries and 36 half centuries} owns the record for most fifties among the Indian batsmen. DA Warner with 48 {04 centuries and 44 half centuries} owns the record for most fifties among the overseas batsmen.

As many as 58 centuries have been registered in the tournament of which Indian batsmen have scored 23 centuries and overseas batsmen have scored 35 centuries. Bangalore leads the table with 13 centuries followed by Punjab which has scored ten centuries

CH Gayle has scored six centuries followed by V Kohli who has scored five centuries. DA Warner and SR Watson have scored four centuries. AB de Villiers has scored three centuries. CH Gayle with his six centuries owns the record for most centuries by a batsman in the tournament.

CH Gayle of Bangalore in 2011, SR Watson of Chennai in 2018 and HM Amla of Punjab in 2017 are the three batsmen in the tournament who have scored two centuries in the same edition. V Kohli of Bangalore is the only batsman in the tournament to score four centuries in the same edition.

There are 33 occasion of batsmen scoring a century containing ten or more boundary fours. PC Valthaty of Punjab scored 19 boundary fours in his knock of 120 not out against Chennai at Mohali on 13.04.11 and AB de Villers of Bangalore scored 19 boundary fours in his knock of 133 not out against Mumbai at Mumbai on 10.05.15 share the record of scoring most boundary fours while scoring a century in the tournament.

Two batsmen have scored centuries containing ten or more boundary sixes. CH Gayle of Bangalore scored 175 not out with 17 boundary sixes against Pune at Bangalore on 15.04.12 and BB McCullum of Kolkata scored 153 not out with 13 boundary sixes against Bangalore at Bangalore on 18.04.08.

Three batsmen in the tournament have score centuries with ten or more boundary fours and ten or more boundary sixes. CH Gayle of Bangalore scored 175 not out with 17 boundary sixes against Pune at Bangalore on 15.04.12 and BB McCullum of Kolkata scored 153 not out with 13 boundary sixes against Bangalore at Bangalore on 18.04.08. AB de Villers of Bangalore scored 10 boundary fours and 12 boundary sixes in his knock of 129 not out against Gujarat at Bangalore on 14.05.16

Two batsmen have scored centuries containing ten or more boundary fours in the finals of the tournament. WP Saha of Punjab scored 115 not out containing 10 boundary fours against Kolkata at Bangalore on 01.06.14 and SR Watson scored 117 not out containing 11 boundary fours against Sunrisers at Mumbai on 27.05.18.

The tournament has witnessed two occasions of two batsmen scoring centuries in the same innings. V Kohli {109} and AB de Villiers {125 not out} of Bangalore scored centuries against Gujarat at Bangalore on 14.05.16. JM Bairstow {114} and DA Warner {100 not out} of Sunrisers scored centuries against Bangalore at Hyd-RGS on 31.03.19

There are eleven occasions of a batsman’s century in a losing cause in the tournament of which three are by overseas batsmen.

There are 61 occasion of batsmen scoring nineties in the tournament of which 28 occasions are by overseas batsmen. DA Warner of Sunrisers with five occasions owns the record for most nineties by a batsman in the tournament. CH Gayle and GJ Maxwell have scored nineties on two occasions. Punjab batsmen have scored most nineties – twelve and is closely followed by Rajasthan batsmen – nine.

There are 18 batsmen who have scored 100 plus boundary sixes in the tournament. CH Gayle owns the record for scoring most sixes in the tournament with 326 boundary sixes.

CH Gayle {326}, AB de Villiers {212} and MS Dhoni {209} are the three batsmen who have scored 200 plus boundary sixes in the tournament. CH Gayle and MS Dhoni own the record for scoring most boundary sixes in the tournament among Overseas batsmen and Indian batsmen respectively.

CH Gayle with his 368 boundary fours and 326 boundary sixes is the only batsman to score 300 plus boundary fours and 300 boundary sixes in the tournament. AB de Villers has scored 357 boundary fours and 212 boundary sixes in the tournament.

The record for scoring most boundary fours is credited to S Dhawan. He has scored 524 boundary fours. He also remains the only batsman to score 500 plus boundary fours in the tournament. SK Raina {493}, G Gambhir {492}, V Kohli {480}, RV Uthappa {435}, RG Sharma {431} and AM Rahane {404} are the other six batsmen who have scored 400 plus boundary fours in the tournament.

Harbhajan Singh and PA Patel share the record for most ducks by a batsman in the tournament. Both the batsmen have scored 13 ducks in the tournament. GJ Mexwell and JH Kallis share the record for most ducks by an overseas batsman. Both the batsmen have scored nine ducks in the tournament. As many as 45 batsmen have scored six or more ducks in the tournament. 30 Indian batsmen have scored six or more ducks in the tournament and 15 overseas batsmen have scored six or more ducks in the tournament.

Fourteen bowlers have captured 100 plus wickets in the tournament of which twelve are Indian bowlers and two are overseas bowlers. Among Indian bowlers, A Mishra holds the record for most wickets – 157 wickets, while SL Malinga holds the record for most wickets for overseas bowlers. SL Malinga holds the record for most wickets in the tournament.

SL Malinga {170}, A Mishra {157}, Harbhajan Singh {150} and PP Chawla {150} are the four bowlers who have captured 150 plus wickets in the tournament.

The tournament has witnessed 20 occasions of bowlers capturing five or more wickets in an innings of which there are three occasions of bowlers capturing six or more wickets in an innings. – Sohail Tanvir of Rajasthan captured six for 14 against Chennai at Jaipur on 04.05.08, A Zampa of Rising Pune captured six for 19 against Sunrisers at Vizag on 10.05.16 and A Josheph of Mumbai captured six for 12 against Sunrisers at Hyd-RGS on 06.04.19

Mumbai and Punjab bowlers share the record for most number of occasions of four plus wickets in an innings. Both the teams have 18 occasions. Bangalore and Chennai closely follow Mumbai and Punjab with 17 such occasions.

There are 67 occasions of overseas bowlers capturing four or more wickets in an innings in the tournament. it comprises of six wickets in an innings on three occasions, five wickets in an innings on six occasions and exact four wickets in an innings on 58 occasions.
