V Kohli became the second Indian captain to collect a duck after facing ten or more deliveries. AL Wadekar was the other captain to suffer such an ignominy. AL Wadekar collected a duck after playing 13 deliveries against Engalnd at Kolkata in Dec 1972. It is interesting to note that the both the  Indian captains  suffered the ignominy at the same venue – Kolkata and 34 years 10 months and 16 days later

Approaching milestones ahead of India – Sri Lanka test series

The first test of the ensuing test series is scheduled to be played at Kolkata. Kolkata would be hosting its 41st test. It is the only test venue  in India to host 40 plus tests. It is interesting to note that India would be playing a test against Sri Lanka for the first time. Thus Kolkata would become the 13th ground to host a test between India and Sri Lanka.

V Kohli  would be leading  India against Sri Lanka at home  for  the first time. He would become the eight captain to lead India against Sri Lanka at home. Others are – M Azharuddin {04},N Kapil Dev {03}, MS Dhoni {03}, SR Tendulkar {03}, SM Gavaskar {01}, R Dravid {02} and V Sehwag {01}

W Saha would become the fifth Indian wicket keeper to  don the gloves against Sri Lanka at home. Others are MS Dhoni {06}, NR Mongia {06}, KS More {04} and SMH Kirmani {01}
