MS Wade led Australia in this game in the absence of injured AJ Finch. MS Wade became the 74th captain to lead a team in the T20 World Cup. He also became the seventh captain to lead Australia in the T20 World Cup.

AJ Finch had led Australia in ten T20 World Cup games and became the second Australian captain to lead Australia in ten T20 World Cup games after GJ Bailey 

AJ Finch became the 20th captain in the T20 World Cup to lead a team on ten or more occasions.

MS Wade became the 16th captain wicket keeper to lead a team in the T20 World Cup. He also became the second captain wicket keeper to lead Australia in T20 World Cup after AC Gilchrist.

MS Wade became the fifth captain wicket keeper to lead a team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Others are SA Edwards of Netherlands, N Pooran of West Indies, R Chakabva of Zimbabwe and JC Buttler of England.

GJ Maxwell scored 54 not out in this game to provide the 31st occasion of an Australian batsman scoring a fifty in the T20 World Cup. It also represents his second fifty in the tournament. Prior to this he had scored 74 against Pakistan at Mirpur on 23.03.14

Australia won its 25th game in the T20 World Cup to become the fourth team to win 25 plus matches in the competition. Others are – Sri Lanka {31}, India {26} and Pakistan {26}. Afghanistan lost its 15th game in the tournament
