1000 plus runs in a calendar year without a hundred

As many as ten batsmen, whose names are listed below, have completed 1000 runs in a calendar year with out scoring a hundred.

BC Broad of England was the first batsman in the history of one day internationals to aggregate 1000 runs in a calendar year without a hundred. He amassed 1047 runs in 1987 with the highest score of 99. He remains the only batsmen in the list of ten to have scored 99 as his highest score.

GC Smith of South Africa remains the only captain in this list of ten, to have completed 1000 runs as a captain with out hundred. He totaled 1079 in 2007 with 96 as his highest score.

JH Kallis’s 1300 in 2000 with 98 not out as highest score represent the most runs scored by a batsman in this category of statistics

1000 runs in a calendar year with 150 plus runs as the highest score

As many as fifteen batsmen have aggregated 1000 runs with the highest score of 150 plus runs in the history of one day internationals. South Africa’s G Kirsten scored 188 while aggregating 1442 runs in 1996 which represent the highest score by a batsman in this category of statistics.

M Azharuddin’s 153 not out with an aggregate of 1268 runs in 1998 makes him the lone captain in the following list to total 1000 runs with the highest score of 150 plus runs

SC Ganguly’s 1767 and 41 matches in 1999 remains the most runs scored in a calendar year with 150 plus runs as highest score. SC Ganguy scored 183 as his highest score.

R Dravid’s 43 matches is record for number of matches played by batsmen in this category of statistics. Dravid totaled 1761 runs in 43 matches with 153 as his highest score in 1999. His aggregate of 1761 was six runs shy of SC Ganguly who aggregated 1767 in 1999

H Masakadza of Zimbabwe and TM Dilshan of Sri Lanka are the two batsmen who satisfied the criteria and aggregated 1000 runs the calendar year 2009
