Test cricket has witnessed just two occasions of two bowlers conceding 200 plus runs in a test innings. The first such occasion was witnessed at Kingston in Feb 58 in the test match between West Indies and Pakistan. Pakistan bowlers β Fazal Mahmood {247} and Khan Mohammad {259} conceded 200 plus runs. The second such instance was witnessed at Col-RPS in Aug 97 in the test match between Sri Lanka and India. Two Indian bowlers RK Chauhan {276} and A Kumble {223} conceded 200 plus runs in the same innings
It is interesting to note that in both these tests, one batsman scored a triple hundred and another scored a double hundred. At Kingston β West Indian batsmen β GS Sobers scored 365 not out while CC Hunte came up with 260. At Col-RPS, ST Jayasuriya scored 340 while RS Mahanama scored 225
Incidentally these two are the only two occasions of a test match in which a batsman has scored a treple hundred and another a double hundred just like the two occasions in which two bowlers of the same team conceding 200 plus runs in an test innings
