JM Anderson was dismissed run out for the  third occasion is his test career while batting at number eleven in a test innings, when he was dismissed run out for 5 in  England’s second innings in the just concluded test against India at Mohali. The three occasions are listed below

JM Bairstow writes himself into record books with most dismissals in a calendar year.

JM Bairstow of England wrote himself into record books with most dismissals in a calendar year. At the end of India’s innings in the Mohali test on 28.11.16, he has effected 68 dismissals in the calendar year 2016. He went past the previous record of 67 dismissaIs held jointly by IA Healy of Australia and MV Boucher of South Africa. IA Healy had effected  67 dismissals in 1993 while MV Boucher had effected 67 dismissals in 1998

As on date JM Bairstow and MV Boucher share the record for most catches by wicket keepers in  a calendar year. Both have pouched 65 catches

R Ashwin completed 500 runs in the calendar year 2016 when he was on 27 during his knock of 57 not out in the third test at Mohali. With 56 wickets in the calendar year 2016, he achieved the all-round feat of scoring 500 plus runs and capturing 50 plus wickets in calendar year 2016.
