Indian women script two record partnerships against England women in the recently concluded test at Bristol.

The first wicket partnership of 167 runs between S Mandhana and Shefali Verma is a record partnership for any wicket by Indian batswomen against England women in Women’s tests. It also provides the tenth occasion of India batswomen posting a three figure partnership against England in women’s tests. The previous best was the 157 runs partnership for the seventh wicket between M Raj and J Goswamy at Taunton in Aug 2002. The previous best for the first wicket was the 132 runs partnership between A Jain and C Kaul at Shenley in Jul 1999. All such occasions are tabulated below.

104 runs unfinished partnership for the ninth wicket between T Bhatia and S Rana is a record partnership for the ninth wicket by Indian batswomen against England women in Women’s tests. Infact this partnership represent the first three figure partnership by Indian batsmen in Women’s test against all oppositions. The previous best was the 90 runs partnership between S Kulakarni and M Singhal at Weatherby in Jun 1996. Both  the partnerships are tabulated below

Women’s Test between England and India at Bristol witnesses a world record.

The just concluded Women’s Test between England and India at Bristol witnessed a world record. In this test five debutant women batsmen scored fifties. SIR Dunkley of England scored 74 not out in the first innings of the test for England, Shefali Verma of India scored 96 in India’s first innings and 63 in second innings, DB Sharma and S Rana scored 54 and 80 not out  in India’s second innings to provide the world record.   The previous record for most fifties in a match on debut was four and has been recorded on four occasions. Shefali Verma of India scored 96 in India’s first innings and 63 in second innings, DB Sharma and S Rana scored 54 and 80 not out in India’s second innings to provide the second  occasion of four batswoman from the same team scoring fifties on debut in a match. The previous occasion is credited to fourv West Indian women batsmen who had scored fifties on debut against Pakistan at Karachi on 15 Mar 2004. Both the occasions are tabulated below
