A total of 21 cricketers have  made  their test debut at Bangalore – eight from India and thirteen from visiting team. The list includes immortals like CG Greenidge, IVA Richards and MD Marshall of West Indies, MJ Clarke and DA Lehmann of Australia. CG Greenidge who scored 93 and 107 on his test debut,  LK Germon who on test debut led New Zealand, RMH Binny – perhaps the only cricketers in the annals of test cricket to make  his test debut and also play his farwell game at the same venue – Bangalore. Yajurvindra Singh who equaled the world record of most catches in a test on his test debut, PR George on his test debut took the wicket of SR Tendulkar are the some noteworthy debutants at Bangalore.The following table lists the debutants at Bangalore.

SNJ O’Keefe emulated BS Chandrashekhar in a sort of records. Both the bowlers captured identical number of wickets conceding identical number of runs in both innings of a test. Chandrashekhar had chosen Australia  as opposition while capture 6 for 52 in both innings at Melbourne in 1977-78, while SNJ O’Keefe chose India as opposition as he captured 6 for 35 in both innings at Pune in 2016-17
