At the end of India’s innings in the Mohali test on 28.11.16, he has effected 68 dismissals in the calendar year 2016. He went past the previous record of 67 dismissaIs held jointly by IA Healy of Australia and MV Boucher of South Africa. IA Healy had effected  67 dismissals in 1993 while MV Boucher had effected 67 dismissals in 1998

As on date JM Bairstow and MV Boucher share the record for most catches by wicket keepers in  a calendar year. Both have pouched 65 catches
