RA Jadeja captured five for 16 in this providing the 45th occasion of a bowler capturing four or more wickets in IPL. His figures also represent the ninth occasion of a bowler capturing five or more wickets in IPL,
Match No 07 – Rajasthan Royals vs. Kolkata Knight Riders at Jaipur on 08.04.12 : Rajasthan Royals won by 22 runs
R Dravid and AM Rahane were dismissed run out in this game providing the second occasion of both the openers run out in an IPL game. The first occasion was at Hyderabad-RGS on 25.06.08 when Bangalore openers – JH Kallis and W Jaffer – were dismissed run out against Hyderabad.
BJ Hodge’s aggregate at the end of this game stood at 4291 which includes his 44 in this game. He now holds the record for highest run getter in T20 games. He went past DJ Hussey’s aggregate of 4283 runs which was the previous best.
Match No 08 : Pune Warriors vs. Kings Eleven Punjab at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune on 08.04.12 : Pune Warriors won by 22 runs
DJ Hussey’s T20 aggregate runs stood at 4301 including the 18 runs he made in this game. He now holds the record for most runs in T20 games. He went past BJ Hodge who has an aggregate of 4291 runs. DJ Hussey and BJ Hodge are the only two batsmen who have aggregated 4000 plus runs in T20 games, Both these cricketers are appearing in IPL 5 – DJ Hussey represents Punjab while BJ Hodge plays for Rajasthan
AC Gilchrist and PC Valthaty were run out in this game providing the third occasion of both the openers dismissed run out in IPL. – The first occasion was at Hyderabad-RGS on 25.06.08 when Bangalore openers – JH Kallis and W Jaffer – were dismissed run out against Hyderabad. The first occasion was at Jaipur on 08.04.12 when Rajasthan openers – R Dravid and AM Rahane – were dismissed run out against Kolkata

Match was delayed by 20 minutes as there was a fire in front of the Members stand in the stadium. The fire broke out due to short circuit after the toss.
G Gambhir completed 1500 runs in IPL when he as on 9 during the course of his knock of 64 in this innings. At the end of this game, his run aggregate stood at 1555. He became the sixth batsman to aggregate 1500 plus runs in IPL. Others are – SK Raina {1865}, SR Tendulkar {1739}, AC Gilchrist {1636}, RG Sharma {1616} and JH Kallis {1586}
Match No 11 – Delhi Daredevils vs. Chennai Super Kings at Delhi on 10.04.11 – Delhi won by eight wickets
There were four run outs in Chennai’s innings – M Vijay, SK Raina, S Badrinath and R Ashwin were the batsmen who were dismissed run out. Four run outs in this innings provide the second occasion of four or more batsmen run out in an innings in IPL. The first such occasions was witnessed when five Mumbai batsmen were run out against Punjab at Mumbai on 21.05.08.
Match No 12 – Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan Royals at Mum-WS on 11.04.12 – Mumbai Indians won by 27 runs
KA Pollard became the first all rounder in IPL to score a fifty and capture four wickets in the same match. He scored 64 with the willow and captured 4 for 44 with the leather.
KA Pollard and MM Patel captured 4 for 44 and 4 for 28 respectively in this game to provide the first occasion of two bowlers capturing four wickets in the same innings in IPL. KA Pollard became the first bowler to return with 4 for 44 in IPL.
MM Patel’s 4 for 28 in this game represent the third occasion of his capturing four or more wickets in IPL. He emulated A Kumble and L Balaji who have captured four or more wickets on three occasions in IPL.
Match No 13 – Chennai SuperKings vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai on 12.04.12 – Chennai won by five wickets on the last ball of the match
Bangalore’s 205 for 8 and Chennai’s 208 for 5 in this game provide the tenth occasion of both the teams posting 200 plus runs in IPL.
Bangalore lost the match after posting 205 for 9 in this game providing the fourth occasion of a team losing the game after posting 200 plus runs batting first in an IPL match.
Chennai chased 205 for 8 and won the game providing the second highest chase to win a game in IPL. The highest chase is by Rajasthan. Set a target of 214 by Deccan Chargers, at Hyd-RGS, Rajasthan won the game by scoring 217 for 7 in 19.5 overs

DJ Hussey became the first fieldsman in T20 games to pouch 100 catches. He earned this distinction when he caught MK Pandey of the bowling of Harmeet Singh for zero in Pune Warrior’s innings. It may be recalled that he had earned the distinction of becoming the first fieldsman to pouch fifty catches in T20 games in an IPL game.
Match No 15 – Kolkata Knight Riders vs. Rajasthan Royals at Kolkata on 13.04.12 – Kolkata Knight Riders won by five wickets
BJ Hodge became the highest run getter in T20 games. His 12 in this game fetched him an aggregate of 4303 runs. He went past DJ Hussey’s record of 4301 runs who held the previous record for most runs in T20 games.
Match No 16 – Pune Warriors vs. Chennai Super Kings at Pune-SRS on 14.04.12 – Pune Warriors won by seven wickets

S Narine captured 5 for 19 in this game providing the 51st occasion of a bowler capturing four or more wickets in IPL. His figures also represent the eleventh occasion of a bowler capturing five or more wickets in IPL.

AM Rahane’s 103 not out in this game represent the 19th hundred in IPL.

BJ Hodge became the first batsman in T20 games to aggregate 450 boundary fours in T20 games. He reached the milestone when he hit his third boundary in his innings of 48 in this game. At the end of this game, his aggregate boundary fours stood at 452. Next best aggregate of boundary fours is credited to BB McCullum who has scored 353 boundary fours – an ifference of 99 boundary fours.

At the end of this innings CH Gayle’s aggregate of sixes representing Bangalore stood at 59. He became the eighth batsman to score 50 plus representing a single team in IPL.
With his third six in this game, CH Gayle’s aggregate of sixes in IPL stood at 80. He became the third batsman in IPL to total 80 plus sixes. Others are – AC Gilchrist {83} and SK Raina {82}

KP Pietersen’s 103 not out in this game represent the 20th hundred scored by a batsman in IPL.
Delhi and Punjab share the record for most hundreds in IPL. Both the teams have scored four hundreds
Match No 24 – Chennai Super Kings vs. Pune Warriors at Chennai on 19.04.12 – Chennai Super Kings won by 13 runs
MS Dhoni earned the distinction of becoming the first captain to keep wickets in T20 games. This game was his 100th game in the dual capacity.
SK Raina collected his second zero in IPL when he failed to open his account in this game. This was his second duck in 66 innings and 68 matches. His first duck was against Kings Eleven Punjab on 13.04.11 at Mohali when he was caught by PC Valthaty of the bowling of Praveen Kumar. It was his first ball duck in this game. Against Pune at Chenani on 19.04.12, he collected the second ball duck when he was caught by M Kartik of A Nehra

DJ Hussey became the highest run getter in T20 games. His 41 in this game gave him an aggregate of 4384 runs. He went past BJ Hodge who has an aggregate of 4352 runs which was the previous record for most runs in T20 runs.
DJ Hussey led Kings Eleven Punjab in this game in the absence of AC Gilchirst who was injured in the previous game. He became the 25th captain to lead a team in IPL. Note the coincidence – This was the 25th game in this edition of IPL.
V Kohli and AB de Villiers took a catch in this game to take their tally of catches to 25 as fieldsmen in IPL. They join the elite club of three fieldsmen who have pouched 25 plus catches in IPL to become the fourth and fifth fieldsmen.
