Tests at Delhi – Key statistical parameters

India has played 32 tests at Delhi and the ensuing fourth test against South Africa slated for the 3rd December 2015 will be the 33rd test to be played at Delhi. This test will also be the first ever test to be played against South Africa at Delhi and South Africa will become India’s eighth opposition to play a test match at Delhi. The following are the seven occasion of bowlers capturing ten or more wickets in the tests played at Delhi. It is observed out of these seven occasions, four are by Indian bowlers, two by Pakistan bowlers and one by an England bowler. A Kumble of India is the only bowler to capture ten or more wickets in a Delhi test on two occasions. A Kumble – 14 for 149 in Feb 99 against Pakistan and Saqlain Mushtaq – 10 for 216 in Feb 99 against India provides the only occasion of rival bowlers capturing ten or more wickets in the same test
