V Kohli emulates SM Gavaskar as Indian captain in scoring twin fifties on two occasions

V Kohli scored 167 in the first innings and 56 not out in the second innings at the end of the third of the test between India and England at Vizag to provide the second occasion of him as Indian captain scoring fifties in both innings of a test. The first such occasion against Australia at Adelaide in Dec 2014 when he scored 115 and 141.

V Kohli emulated SM Gavaskar in scoring twin fifties as Indian captain on two occasions. It is interesting to note the similarity of both scoring centuries in both innings of a test as one of the two occasions. SM Gavaskar scored 107 and 182 not out against West Indies at Kolkata in Dec 1978, while V Kohli scored 115 and 141 against Australia at Adelaide in Dec 2014
