England captains scoring double centuries
JE Root scored 228 against Sri Lanka at Galle in the ongoing test to provide the 83rd occasion of a captain scoring a double century in a test innings in the annals of test cricket. It also provides the ninth occasion of an England captain scoring a double century in a test innings. All such occasions are tabulated below
