SS Iyer became the 16th captain in Indian Premier League to captain two teams in the tournament.  He achieved the distinction when he led Kolkata in the opening fixture of 2022 League against Chennai at Mum-WS on 26.03.22. Prior to this he had led Delhi in the tournament. The following table lists all the sixteen captains.

Post Script – KL Rahul became the 17th captain in the Indian Premier League to captain two teams. After having led Punjab in the earlier editions, he led Lucknow against Titans at Mumbai-WS on 28.03.22 in the ongoing edition
