250 plus boundary fours on a single ground in the history of Twenty20 games

Virat Kohli of India is on the threshold of becoming the first Indian batsman to score 250 plus boundary fours on a single ground in the history of T20 games. He has scored 249 boundary fours at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore prior to the start of T20I against South Africa. India and South Africa are scheduled to meet  at Bangalore on 19.06.22 One more boundary four would fetch him the record of scoring 250 plus boundary fours at Bangalore.

This record was to be in his kitty by now had he scored a boundary four against South Africa at Bangalore in his knock of 9 runs on 22 Sep 2019. He failed to score a boundary four and missed the coveted distinction of becoming the first batsman to score 250 boundary fours on a single ground in the history of T20 games.

Elsewhere, across the globe, the following three batsmen have achieved the feat of scoring 250 plus boundary fours on a single ground.  AD Hales – 278 at Nottingham, Tamim Iqbal at Dhaka and JM Vince at Southampton.

Thus, if V Kohli achieves the feat at Bangalore on 19.06.22, he would become the fourth batsman in the history of T20 games to score 250 plus boundary fours on a single ground. He would become the first Indian batsman to achieve the feat having missed the record of becoming the first batsman to achieve the feat in T20 games
