It also provides the 36th occasion of England’s five batsmen scoring fifties in an innings against all oppositions. It also provides the sixth occasion of England’s five batsmen scoring fifties in an innings against India.

JE Root’s 150 in England’s first innings fetched him an aggregate of 13409 test runs.  He now occupies the second place in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in tests. SR Tendulkar occupies the first place with 15921 runs to his credit. JE Root went past RT Ponting who had scored 13378 runs on his way to occupy the second place.

JE Roor’s 150 in England’s first innings fetched him 38th century in q test innings. Other batsmen to score 38 or more centuries in the annals of test cricket are – SR Tendulkar {51}, JH Kallis {45}, RT Ponting {41} and KC Sangakkara {38}

JE Root’s 150 in England’s second innings represents his 104th fifty of his test career. He now stands second in the list of batsmen who have scored most fifties in test cricket. SR Tendulkar with 119 fifties to his credit occupies the second place,

JE Root’s 150 in England’s second inning represents his 16th score of 150 plus runs in an innings. He became the sixth batsman to score 16 or more scores of 150 plus runs in the annals of test cricket. JE Root was dismissed stumped after scoring 150 runs to provide the 35th occasion of a batsman dismissed stumped in an innings after scoring 150 plus runs in an innings. It also provides the seventh occasion of a batsman dismissed after scoring 150 plus runs in an innings against India.

It also provides the tenth occasion of an England batsman dismissed after scoring 150 plus runs in an innings. It also provides the second occasion of an England batsman dismissed after scoring 150 plus runs in an innings against India. JJ Bumrah’s two wickets in England’s first innings fetched him 51 wickets against England in England. He became the first Indian bowler to capture 50 plus wickets against England in England. He also became the 18th pace bowler and the first Indian pace bowler to capture 50 plus wickets against England in England.

JJ Bumrah returned with figures of 2 for 112 in England’s first innings to provide the first occasion of his conceding 100 plus runs in a test innings.

It also provides the second occasion of Indian batsmen posting 200 plus runs partnership for the fifth wicket in an innings against England. Prior to this Mohd Azharuddin-RJ Shastri had added 214 runs for the fifth wicket against England at Eden Gardens in Dec 1984. It also provides the 21st occasion of Indian batsmen posting 200 plus runs partnership for various wickets against England.

Shubman Gill’s run aggregate at the end of this test read 722. He became the third Indian batsman to score 700 plus runs in a test series. His feat provides the fourth such occasion. The four occasions are – SM Gavaskar – 774 runs against West Indies in West Indies in 1970-71, SM Gavaskar – 732 runs against West Indies in India in 1980-81, Shubman Gill – 722 runs against England in England in 2025 and YBK Jaiswal – 712 runs against England in  India in 2023-24.

Thus Shubman Gill’s 722 runs in this series is a record series aggregate against England. He went past YBK Jaiswal’s 712 runs against England in India in 2023-24.

Shubman Gill scored 103 in India’s second innings which represents his fourth century of the series. He became the third Indian batsman to score four centuries in a series. His feat provides the fourth such occasion. The four occasions are – SM Gavaskar – four centuries against West Indies in West Indies in 1970-71, SM Gavaskar – four centuries against West Indies in India in 1978-79, V Kohli – four centuries against Australia in Australia in 2014-15 and Shubman Gill – four centuries against England in England in 2025.

Shubman Gill scored 103 in India’s second innings which represents his fourth century of the series. His feat provides the 22nd occasion of a batsman scoring four or more centuries in a series. It also provides the third occasion of a captain scoring four or more centuries in a series

The other two occasions are – DG Bradman – four centuries against India in Australia 1948-49 and SM Gavaskar – four centuries against West Indies in India  1978-79

Shubman Gill’s run aggregate at the end of this test read 722. His feat provides the 36th occasion of a batsman scoring 700 plus runs in a test series.  His feat also provides the ninth occasion of a captain scoring 700 plus runs in a test series.

KL Rahul scored 90 in India’s second innings to provide the 133rd occasion of an Indian batsman scoring a ninety in an innings. It also provides the 90th occasion of an Indian batsman scoring a ninety in an innings against England. It provides the  44th occasion of an opening Indian batsman scoring a ninety in an innings. It also provides the fourth occasion of an Indian opening batsman scoring a ninety in an innings against England

YBK Jaiswal’s aggregate runs as an opening batsman against England read 1003 at the end of this test. He became the fourth Indian opening batsman to amass 1000 plus runs against England. Others are – SM Gavaskar {2483}, KL Rahul {1341} and RG Sharma {1113}.  YBK Jaiswal became the 20th Indian batsman to score 1000 plus runs against England.

RR Pant and RA Jadeja have scored five fifties in this series so far to provide the sixth and seventh occasion of an Indian batsman scoring five fifties in a series against England. India capped A Khamboj for this test. He became the 317th  Indian cricketer to represent India in tests. He also became the 145th Indian cricketer to be capped on away soil. He became the 103rd Indian cricketer to make his test debut against England. He also became the 54th Indian cricketer to mqke his test debut against England in England.

KL Rahul completed 1000 runs when he was on 11 during the course of his knock of 46 in  India’s first innings against England in England. His run aggregate read 1035 at the end of India’s first innings. He became the fourth Indian batsman to achieve such a feat. Others are – SR Tendulakar {1575}, R Dravid {1376} and SM Gavaskar {1172}

KL Rahul completed 1000 runs when he was on 28 during the course of his knock of 46 in India’s first innings against England in England as an opening batsman. His run aggregate read 1018 at the end of India’s first innings. He became the second Indian opening batsman to achieve such a feat. SM Gavaskar is the other opening batsman who has scored 1172 runs against England in England.

KL Rahul became the 34th batsman in the annals of cricket to score 1000 runs against England in England. He also became the ninth opening batsman in the annals of cricket to score 1000 runs against England in England.

RR Pant scored two boundary sixes in his knock of 54 in India’s first innings which fetched him 90 boundary sixes. He now shares the record for most sixes by an Indian batsman for most boundary sixes with V Sehwag. V Sehwag has also scored 90 boundary sixes in his test career. RR Pant went past RG Sharma who has scored 88 boundary sixes to share the record of most sixes by an Indian batsman with V Sehwag
