It also provides the 49th occasion of a West Indies batsman scoring a century in an innings against India in India.  It also provides the twelfth occasion of a West Indies batsman scoring a century in an innings against India in a test at Delhi.

It also provides the 23rd occasion of a West Indies opening batsman scoring a century in an innings against India.  It also provides the 14th occasion of a West Indies opening batsman scoring a century in an innings against India in India

It also provides the second occasion of a West Indies opening batsman scoring a century in an innings against India in a test at Delhi. Prior to this JK Holt had scored 123 at Delhi in Feb 1959. Thus after 66 years a West Indian opening batsman has scored a century against India at Delhi.

SD Hope of West Indies scored 103 in this test to provide the 105th occasion of a West Indies batsman scoring a century in an innings against India. The previous best partnership by West Indies batsmen against India for the third wicket was the 67 runs partnership between IVA Richards and WW Davis in Oct 1983

Kuldeep Yadav of India returned with figures of 8 for 186 in this test to provide the 22nd occasion of an Indian bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies. It also provides the 13th occasion of an Indian bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies in India. It also provides the second occasion of an Indian bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies in a test at Delhi

Kuldeep Yadav of India returned with figures of 8 for 186 in this test to provide the 15th occasion of an Indian spin bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies. It also provides the tenth occasion of an Indian spin bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies in India. It also provides the first occasion of an Indian spin bowler capturing eight or more wickets in a test match against West Indies in a test at Delhi

JP Greaves and JNT Seales added 79 runs for the tenth wicket to provide the fourth occasion of West Indies batsmen posting a fifty plus runs partnership in an innings against India. It also provides the second occasion of West Indies batsmen posting fifty plus runs partnership in an innings against India in India. Prior to this WW Davis and PJL Dujon had added 51 runs partnership for the tenth wicket at Ahmedabad in Nov 1983.

Thus the 79 runs partnership between JP Greaves and JNT Seales in this test constitute a record partnership for the tenth wicket by West Indies batsmen against India in India.

It is also the first fifty plus runs partnership for the tenth wicket by West Indies by West Indies batsmen against India at Delhi and provides the record partnership for the tenth wicket by West Indies batsmen against India at Delhi. The previous best was the 28 runs partnership for the tenth wicket between ST Clarke and VA Holder at Delhi in Jan 1979
