IM Chappell  ofAustraliascored 145 and 121, while BE Congdon of New Zealand scored 132 atWellingtonin Mar 1974.  GA Gooch of England scored 333 and 121, while MA Azharuddin of India came up with 121 at Lord’s in Jul 1990. Mohammad Hafeez scored a duck in the first T20 game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 01.06.12. He became the ninth captain in the history of T20Is to score a duck on captaincy debut. The complete list is furnished below

T20I : Sri Lanka trounce Pakistan by 37 runs in the first T20I at Hambantota

First T20 – Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan at Hambantota on 01.06.2012 – Sri Lanka won by 37 runs

Mohammad Hafeez became the sixth captain to lead Pakistan in T20Is. He led Pakistan for the first time in this game

Pakistan capped Shakeel Ansar for this game. He became the 47th cricketer to represent Pakistan in T20Is. He became the second Pakistan cricketer to make his T20I debut against Sri Lanka after Umar Akmal. Umar Akmal has made his debut at Col-PSS on 12.08.09

Sri Lanka capped KS Lokutachhi, SMSM Senanayake and HDRL Thirimanne for this game. They became the 42nd, 43rd and 44th cricketers to represent Sri Lanka in T20Is. They became the 3rd, 4th and 5th Sri Lankan cricketers to make their T20 debut against Pakistan.

DPMD Jayawardene and TMD Dilshan were playing their 36th match for Sri Lanka in this game. They share the record for most appearances by a Sri Lankan batsman in T20Is.

KC Sangakkara’s 19 in this game gave him a total of 902 runs in T20Is. He became the second Sri Lankan batsman to score 900 plus runs in T20Is after DPMD Jayawardene who has an aggregate of 955 runs

With 902 runs ito his credit, KC Sangakkara became the fifth batsman to total 900 plus runs in T20Is. Others are – BB McCullum {1352}, KP Pietersen {1176}, GC Smith {982} and DPMD Jayawardene {902}

DPMD Jayawardene and Mohammad Hafeez opened the innings for Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively in this game providing the 12th occasion of rival captains opening the innings in the history of T20Is. It is the first such occasion in Sri Lanka-Pakistan T20I series

Mohammad Hafeez was dismissed for zero by the first ball of innings providing the third occasion of a captain dismissed first ball while opening the innings in T20Is. The three occasions are listed below

The first wicket keeper batsman to suffer such an ignominy was J Edness of Bermuda. He collected the first ball duck against Scotland at Belfast on 03.08.08.

KC Sangakkara held two catches in this game which gave him an aggregate of 28 dismissals in T20Is. He now shares the second place amongst the wickets who have effected most dismissals in T20Is with BB McCullum who also has 28 dismissals to his credit. Kamran Akmal of Pakistan holds the record with 45 dismissals.

KC Sangakkara’s two catches gave him a total of 17 catches in T20Is. He became the sixth wicket keeper in the history of T20Is to pouch 17 or more catches.  Others are – BB McCullum {21}, D Ramdin {21}, MV Boucher {18}, AC Gilchrist {17} and Kamran Akmal {17}

SL Malinga’s two wickets in this game gave him an aggregate of 155 wickets in T20 games. He now stands third in the list of bowlers who have captured most wickets in T20 games. DP Nannes {178} and AC Thomas {159} are the bowlers who have taken more wickets than SL Malinga. SL Malinga went past JA Morkel who had an aggregate of 154 wickets on his way to third position.
