West Indies batsmen in a rare feat – batsmen batting at number five, six, seven and eight score fifties in a test innings at Kingston in the second test against India

JM Blackwood {63}, RL Chase {137*}, SO Dowrich {74} and JO Holder {64*} scored fifties in the third innings of the just concluded Kingston test between West Indies and India to provide the fifth occasion of batsmen batting at number five, six, seven and eight scoring fifties in a test innings in the annals of test cricket. All such occasions are listed below.

It also provides the first ever occasion of West Indies batsmen accomplishing such a feat in the annals of test cricket. It also provides the third such occasion of a team performing such a feat against India. The other two occasions are by New Zealand at Hamilton in Jan 1999 and at Napier in Mar 2009

West Indies batsmen’s feat provides the second such occasion in the third innings of a test – the first such occasion was witnessed in the third innings of the test between New Zealand and India at Hamilton in Jan 1999

LMP Simmons became the first batsman in the Caribbean Premier League to total 2000 runs. As on 2nd August 2016, his aggregate read an impressive 2012 from 70 games. ADS Fletcher {1888} and CH Gayle {1738} are the other two batsmen to have totaled 1700 plus runs in CPL
