STR Binny creates a world record

STR Binny created a world record when he captured six wickets conceding four runs against Bangladesh in the second one day international at Mirpur on 17.06.14. It stands as the best bowling figures when a bowler has captured more wickets than the runs conceded in one day internationals.

It is also the second time where a bowler has captured five or more wickets while performing such a feat. The previous best figures were in the name of CA Walsh who had captured five wickets conceding one run {5 for 1} in 4.3 overs in the game between West Indies and Sri Lanka at Sharjah on 03.12.86.

Another occasion when a bowler has captured more wickets than the runs conceded was at Sydney on 17.12.92 when PV Simmons of West Indies captured four wickets conceding three runs {4 for 3} at Sydney.

STR Binny’s 6 for 4 in the game at Mirpur makes him the first bowler to capture six wickets conceding less runs than the wickets he has captured.
