Australian batsmen have posted 25 hundreds against India. RT Ponting’s 140 not out at Johannesburg on 23.03.03 remain the highest individual score. RT Ponting also holds the record of scoring most hundreds against India. He has five hundreds to his credit

Indian batsmen have registered 22 hundreds against Australia. SR Tendulkar’s 143 at Sharjah on 22.04.98 remain the highest individual score. SR Tendulkar also holds the record of scoring most hundreds against Australia. He has eight hundreds to his credit.

SR Tendulkar’s 2730 runs, his 143 at Sharjah on 22.04.98 and his eight hundreds are the records in India-Australia one day series for most run aggregate, highest individual score and most hundreds by a batsmen.

As many as eleven hundred by Indian batsmen have gone in vain as India failed to win the game. SR Tendulkar’s 143 at Sharjah remain the highest individual score when India ended on a losing side. Only four hundreds by Australian batsmen have gone in vain. DC Boon’s 111 at Jaipur on 07.09.86 remain the highest individual innings by an Australian batsman in a losing cause.

Australian batsmen have scored individual nineties on eight occasions against India. ML Hayden’s 99 at Bangalore on 245.03.91 remains the only ninety nine registered by an Australian batsman against India. ML Hayden, AC Gilchrist and AR Border are the three Australian batsmen who have scored nineties on two occasions.

Indian batsmen have scored individual nineties on six occasions against Australia. M Azharuddin and SR Tendulkar are the two Indian batsmen who have scored nineties on two occasions. M Azharuddin’s 94 at Mohali on 03.11.96 remain the highest individual score amongst the nineties scored by Indian batsmen.

SR Tendulkar has scored 22 fifties for India against Australia while the most number of fifties by Australian batsmen is 13 against India is shared by ML Hayden and AC Gilchrist. RT Ponting {11} is the other batsman with ten or more fifties to his credit. SR Tendulkar’s 22 fifties is a series record.

Most number of sixes by a batsman in India-Australia one day series is 31 which is credited to SR Tendulkar, which incidentally is also an Indian record against Australia. RT Ponting and A Symonds with 27 sixes to their credit share the Australian record against India.

Bret Lee {49} and N Kapil Dev {45} hold the record for most wickets by an Australian bowler and Indian bowler respectively in the series. B Lee’s 49 wickets is a series record. He needs one more wicket for his 50 wickets against India. He would then become the sixth bowler to capture 50 plus wickets against India. H would earn the distinction of becoming the first Australian bowler to capture fifty plus wickets against India.

B Lee holds the record for most number of four plus wickets on four occasions against India {all these four occasions are five fors}, while Indian record for most four plus wickets is three and is credited to AB Agarkar {three occasions}

Murali Karthik’s 6 for 27 at Mumbai on 17.10.07 remain the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against Australia, while KH Macleay’s 6 for 39 at Nottingham on 13.06.83 remain the best bowling figures by an Australian bowler against India. AB Agarkar of India is the other bowler to capture six wickets against Australia {6 for 42 at Melbourne on 09.01.04

There are 15 occasions of bowlers capturing five or more wickets in India-Australia one day series which includes three occasion of six wickets performances. Indian bowlers have captured five or more wickets on five occasions {of which two are six wickets performances}, while Australian bowlers have captured five or more wickets on ten occasions {of which one is a six wicket performance}.

Australian bowlers have captured exact four wickets against India on thirteen occasions, while Indian bowlers have captured exact four wickets against Australia on eleven occasions,

India has lost the match on five occasions when its bowlers have captured four or more wickets, while Australia has not lost a single match against India when its bowlers have captured four or more wickets. There are five partnerships of 150 plus runs posted by Indian batsmen against Australia
