Two hundred plus runs against Pakistan in a test innings – Tamim Iqbal is a new entrant to the list

Tamim Iqbal of Bangladesh scored 206 against Pakistan in its second innings {third innings of the test} at Khulna to provide the 35th occasion of a batsman scoring 200 plus runs against Pakistan in a test innings. It also provides the 14th occasion of an opening batsman scoring 200 plus runs against Pakistan in a test innings. All such occasions are listed below

Tamim Iqbal became the second Bangladesh batsman to score 200 runs in a test innings. Mushfiqur Rahim had scored 200 runs against Sri Lanka at Galle in Mar 2013. Thus Tamim Iqbal’s 206 in this test represent the highest individual score by a Bangladesh batsman in tests

Tamim Iqbal became the first Bangladesh opening batsman to score 200 runs in a test innings. It represents the highest individual score by a Bangladesh opening batsman in a test innings. The previous best score was 151 by Tamim Iqbal himself against India at Dhaka in Jan 2010.

 

It also represents the highest individual score by a Bangladesh opening batsman in a test innings on home soil. The previous best score was 151 by Tamim Iqbal himself against India at Dhaka in Jan 2010.
