MRKPL-M32-Finals – Bijapur Bulls vs Hubli Tigers at Mysuru on 20.09.15 – Bijapur Bulls won by seven wickets

Bijapur Bulls lifted the coveted KPL 2015 Trophy by trouncing Hubli Tigers by seven wickets. The match became an one sided affair after Hubli Tigers posted a total of 114 for 9 in 20.0 overs. Put into bat after losing the toss, Hubli Tigers lost its wickets at regular intervals. Its previous game’s hero – Mohd Taha – departed very early at five and for a personal score of one. He was bowled by VV Kumar. VV Kumar bowled skipper KR Kapoor for 5 and the score card a dismal 15. Inform opening batsman KB Pawan and D Negi batted well to stitch a 43 run stand for the third wicket before D Negi was stumped by RV Uthappa for 21 and the score card read 58 for 3. Wicket keeper NS Bhille was dismissed run for 10 and KB Pawan left at 75. Hubli Tigers had lost its half the side when KB Pawan left. Hubli Tigers added 39 more runs for the loss of another four wickets to finish with 114 for 9 in 20.0 overs. Kranti Kumar scored 21 run and was the eighth batsman to be dismissed run out at 114. The score card at this stage read 114 for 8 in 19.5 overs. Another wicket fell off the last ball to make it 114 for 9. KB Pawan had the following records to his credit during his knock of 32 in this game.

KB Pawan completed 300 runs during his knock of 32 in this game. At the end of this game his run aggreate read 321 He became the third batsman in KPL 2015 to total 300 plus runs. Others are – SH Kirmani {338} and Mohd Taha {308}

KB Pawan completed 600 runs in KPL. At the end of this game his run aggregate read 606. He became the sixth batsman to total 600 plus runs in KPL. Others are – MA Agarwal {740}, R Jonathan {725}, B Chipli {724}, KK Nair {669} and Amit Verma {668}

KB Pawan has scored 66 boundary fours at the end of this game. He now occupies the second place in the list of batsmen who have scored most boundary fours in KPL. The first place is occuped by KK Nair who has scored 67 bounday fours

With 321 runs to his credit in KPL 2015, KB Pawan became the ninth batsman to score 300 plus runs in an edition of KPL. He stands fourth in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in an edition of KPL. Other three are – KL Rahul {347 in 2014}, SH Kirmani {338 in 2015} and J Arunkumar {326 in 2009}

KB Pawan with 321 runs in this season became the second Hubli Tigers batsman to total 300 plus runs. Other batsman was Mohd Taha {308}

KB Pawan and Mohd Taha earned the distinction of becoming the first pair of opening batsman from the same team {Hubli Tigers} to score 300 plus runs in a single edition of KPL. They are the first opening pair to achieve this feat across the four editions of KPL.

KC Cariappa’s three wickets gave him 16 wickets in KPL 2015. He became the most wicket taker in KPL 2015. He went past Mitrakanth Yadav who had taken 14 wickets.

KC Cariappa’s 16 wickets in KPL 2015, makes him the fifth bowler to capture 15 or more wickets in an edition of KPL. Others are – DJ Johnson {17 in 2009}, J Suchith {16 in 2014}, UB Patel {16 in 2010} and K Gowthm {16 in 2010}

Batting second, Bijapur Bulls wer not troubled by Hubli Tigers bowling attack which was far from impressive.Openers R Samarth and RR Bhatkal posted 35 runs stand. It lost two more wickets quickly and the score card read 60 for 3. R Samath {27}, RR Bhatkal {6} and SN Raju {4} were the batsmen dismissed. RV Uthappa {38*| and skipper B Akhil {36* ensured that no more wickets fell and were concerned in a 75 runs unfinished stand for the fourth wicket. Bijapur Bulls romped home by seven wickets

RV Uthappa’s aggregate in KPL at the end of this game read 602. He became the seventh batsman to total 600 plus runs in KPL. Others are – MA Agarwal {740}, R Jonathan {725}, B Chipli {724}, KK Nair {669} and Amit Verma {668} and KB Pawan {608}

B Akhil’s first boundary six in this game gave him an aggregate of 28 sixes in KPL. He hit three more sixes to take his aggregate of boundary sixes to 31. He became the third batsman to score 30 plus boundary sixes in KPL. Other to score more sixes than B Akhil in KPL are – MA Agarwal {33} and B Chipli {31}.
