Karnataka denied themselves of a possible victory by not scoring fast at the beginning of the fourth day and to some extent the decision of the umpires too marred the chances of carving out a victory and had to be satisfied for a drawn encounter.

This is the third successive match which has failed to produce an outright result between the two teams, after Karnataka’s victory by 167 runs in 2005/06 at B’lore in 2005/06. His previous best bowling innings effort was 6 for 38 against Maharashtra at Ratnagiri in 2007/08.
