KL Rahul becomes the first Indian batsman to score seven consecutive test innings fifties

KL Rahul of India scored 85 in the first innings of the Palekele test against Sri Lanka which was his seventh consecutive test innings fifty. He became the first Indian batsman to accomplish such a feat. He went past GR Viswanath and R Dravid who had scored six fifties in consecutive test innings.  The performance of these three batsmen are tabulated below. Interestingly enough, all the three batsmen – GR Viswanath, R Dravid and KL Rahul – represent Karnataka in domestic circuit
