NLTC Perera became the 21st captain to lead Sri Lanka in one day games when he led Sri Lanka in the first one day game against India at Dharamsala. He also became the 15th Sri Lankan captain to lead Sri Lanka against India when he led India in the first one day game against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala.
