DJ Malan and JM Bairstow of England had added 174 runs in an unfinished partnership for the fifth wicket against Australia in the ongoing test at Perth. They need another 19 runs to establish a record partnership for the fifth wicket against Australia in the Ashes series. The present record  is 192 runs between R Foster and LC Braund which was at Sydney in Dec 1903.
