Gautham Gambhir became the fourth batsman in the annals of test cricket to score five or more hundreds in consecutive test matches, the others being DG Bradman of Australia {06}, JH Kallis of South Africa {05} and Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan {05}.

G Gambhir is the only Indian batsman in this four men elite list and also figures in the list as a lone opening batsman.

G Gambhir became the second batsman to score four hundreds in the second innings while achieving this distinction. DG Bradman is the other batsman who has scored four hundreds in the second innings while achieving the feat. It is also interesting to note DG Bradman remains the only batsman to score two double hundreds while achieving the feat of scoring six hundreds in consecutive tests. Mohammad Yousuf remains the only batsman to score hundreds in both innings while achieving the feat of five hundreds in consecutive tests.
