Shoaib Malik of Pakistan became the third batsman in the history of T20Is to aggregate 2000 plus runs after MJ Guptill and BB McCullum.  The following table lists the six batsmen who have totalled 1900 plus runs in  the history of T20 Internationals.

Shoaib Malik who was in need of eleven runs prior to the start of the Zimbabwe tri series involving Zimbabwe, Austrlia and Pakistan at Harare. He completed 2000 runs when he was on 11 against Zimbabwe at Harare on 01.07.18 during his knock of 37 not out. His  run aggregate read 2026 at the end of  the game

Shoaib Malik went past V Kohli and RG Sharma of India who had totalled 1992  and  1949 T20I runs respectively. It was wide believed that V Kohli would become the third batsman to reach the land mark of 2000 runs in T20Is, as he needed 17 runs prior to the start of T20I games against  Ireland. He scored a duck in the first game and nine runs in the second to reach  an aggregate of 1992 – eight runs shy of 2000 mark.

Shoib Malik became  the third batsman to aggregate 2000 plus runs representing a nation in the history of T20 Internationals. He has an aggregate of 2014 runs representing Pakistan. He  has represented ICC World Eleven and has scored 12 runs.
