V Kohli’s 149 represents his  12th test century on  away soil. He became the fourth Indian batsman to score 12 or more centuries  on  away soil. Others are – SR Tendulkar {29}, R Dravid {21} and SM Gavaskar {18}

It also represents his 15th century as captain batting at number four. He now  owns the record for  most centuries by a captain batting at  number  four. He went past DPMD Jayawardne who held the record previously with 14 centuries to his credit while batting at number four. BC Lara and SPD Smith are the other  two  captains who have  scored  ten centuries while batting at number four.

V Kohli now has an aggregate of  3416 runs as captain while  batting at number four. Only AR Border has scored more runs – 3458 – as captain who has batted at number four. AR Border and V Kohli are the only two captains in the  annals of test cricket with an aggregate of 3400 plus runs while batting at number four.

V Kohli’s 149 represent his 25th score  of  fifty plus runs while batting at number four. He became the third  Indian batsman to score 25 fifties while  batting at number four. Others are – SR Tendulkar {102} and GR Viswanath {43}

V Kohli’s 149 represnet his eleventh century while batting at number four on away soil. He now stands fourth in the list of batsmen who have scored eleven or more centuries while batting at number four on away soil. Others are – SR Tendulkar {24}, JH Kallis {14} and BC Lara {13}
