R Ashwin has captured 38 wickets against South Africa prior to the start of the series. He captured five wickets at the end of the third day which fetched him 43 wickets. RA Jadeja and I Sharma have captured 29 wickets against South Africa prior to the start of the series. One more wicket each would fetch them 30 wickets. RA Jadeja captured two wickets which fetched him 31 wickets, while I Sharma’s lone wicket fetched him 30 wickets. They would then became the seventh and eighth Indian bowlers to capture 30 plus wickets against South Africa. Others are – A Kumble {84}, J Srinath {64}, Harbhajan Singh {60} and Zaheer Khan {40}, R Ashwin {43} and S Sreesanth {31}

RA Jadeja has captured 198 wickets in his test career prior to the start of the series. Two more wickets would fetch him 200 wickets. His two wickets fetched him 200 wickets.
