MP O’Dowd was dismissed run out for 70 in this game to provide the 13th occasion of a batsman dismissed run out after scoring a fifty in the tournament. It also provides the sixth occasion of an opening batsman dismissed run out after scoring a fifty in the tournament.

It also provides the second occasion of a Netherland batsman and also its opening batsman dismissed run out after scoring a fifty in the tournament. SJ Myburgh was dismissed run out for 55 against UAE at Sylhet on 17 Mar 2014.

MP O’Dowd’s 70 was in a losing  cause to provide the seventh occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in the tournament. It also provides the second occasion of an opening batsman’s fifty in a losing cause in the tournament. The first such occasion was England’s DL Maddy’s 50 against New Zealand at Durban on 18 Sep 2007.

Namibia posted its first win in the tournament when it beat Netherlands by six wickets in this game. Namibia and PNG are the two new teams participating in the T20 World Cup. They became the 20^th and 21^st team to participate in the tournament.

D Wiese of Namibia scored five boundary sixes in his knock of 66 not out in this game to provide the 38^th occasion of a batsman scoring five or  more  boundary sixes in an innings in the tournament. It also provides the 17^th occasion of a batsman scoring exact five boundary sixes in an innings in the tournament.

D Wiese had represented South Africa in 2016 edition of T20 World Cup. He has played three World Cup games for South Africa. His highest score was 28 against West Indies at Nagpur on 25 Mar 2016. Thus his 66 not out representing Namibia in this game represent his first T20 World Cup fifty.
