Mulawantrai Himmatlal Mankad {known popularly as “Vinoo Mankad} has the unique distinction of being the only cricketer in the annals of test cricket to score two double hundreds in separate tests and also concede 200 plus runs in two separate test innings.

He scored 223 runs in the first innings against New Zealand at Brabourne Stadium, Bombay in Dec 1955 and followed it up with 231 in the first innings against the same opposition at Nehru Stadium, Madras.

He conceded 202 runs in the first innings against West Indies at Brabourne Stadium, Bombay in Dec 1948 and conceded 228 runs in the second innings against the same opposition at Kingston in Mar 1953

His batting feat of scoring double hundreds in two test innings was against the same opposition – New Zealand. His bowling feat of conceding 200 plus runs on two occasions was against the same opposition – West Indies
