AJ Strauss scored 83 and 82 in the just concluded first test against Bangladesh at Lord’s providing the 30^th occasion of an England captain scoring fifties in both innings of a test match.

AJ Strauss became the fourth England captain to score twin fifties in a test at Lord’s. The other three are – GA Gooch {333 and 123 vs India in Jul 1990}, N Hussain {57 and 68 vs Sri Lanka at Lord’s in May 2002} and MP Vaughan {103 and 101* vs West Indies in Jul 2004}
