RG Gaikwad of India pouched three catches against South Africa at Rajkot on 17 Jun 22 to provide the 179^th occasion of a fieldsman other than the wicketkeepers taking three or more catches in a T20I innings. These 179 occasions include 17 occasion of a fieldsman taking four catches in an innings.

It also provides the tenth occasion of an Indian fieldsman other than the wicket keeper taking three or more catches in an innings in a T20I. These ten occasions include one occasion of an Indian fieldsman taking four catches in an innings.

It also provides the fourth occasion of an Indian fieldsman other than the wicket keeper taking three or more catches in an innings in a T20I against South Africa. All such occasions are tabulated below

RD Gaikwad became the fourth Indian fieldsman other than the wicket keepers to pouch three catches in a T20I innings on home soil and the first Indian fieldsman to pouch three catches in a T20I innings on home soil against South Africa.
