India was dismissed all out for 400 in its first innings to provide the sixth occasion of a team dismissed for exact 400 runs in a test innings. It also provides the second occasion of India dismissed for exact 400 runs in a test innings. The other occasion was against Sri Lanka at Cuttack in Jan 1987

Australia was also dismissed for exact 400 runs in a test innings against India at Bengaluru in March 1998.

R Ashwin captured the wicket of Usman Khawaja in Australia’s second innings. This wicket gave him his 150th wicket when he shared the new ball in a test innings. He captured five for 37 in Australia’s second innings which gave him his 15th five wicket haul when he shared the new ball. He became the first spin bowler in the annals of test cricket to capture five wickets in an innings on 15 occasions when he shred the new ball in a test innings

R Ashwin’s 5 for 37 in Australia’s second innings represent his 31st five wicket haul in an innings of his test career. It also represents the second most five wicket hauls in an inninngs by an Indian bowler. A Kumble has the most five wicket hauls in an innings – 35

UT Khawaja of Australia was playing his 100th innings in Australia’s second innings to provide the 206th occasion of a batsman playing 100 plus innings in their test career. He also became the 35th Australian batsman to achieve such a feat.

Australia was dismissed all out for 91 in its second innings to provide the 39th occasion of Australia dismissed all out for a total less than 100 runs in a test innings. It also provides the third occasion of Australia dismissed all out for a total of less than 100 runs in a test innings against India.

Australia was dismissed all out for 91 in its second innings represent its lowest team total against India in India.  Australia’s previous lowest total against India in India was 93 at Wankhede Stadium in Nov 2004. In this test Rahul Dravid was India’s captain. Harbhajan Singh shared the new ball to capture 5 for 29 in the second innings.
