JM Anderson became the fourth bowler in the history of one day games to conceded 70 plus runs on seven or more occasions when he returned with figures of 3 for 74 in the first one day game between England and Bangladesh at Nottingham on 08.07.10. Others are A Nehra of India {08}, Naved-ul-Hasan {07} and Waqar Younis {07}

A Nehra of India had conceded 70 plus runs on eight occasions which read thus – 2 for 74 vs Pakistan at Centurion on 01.03.03, none for 80 vs Australia at Bangalore on 12,11.03, 4 for 72 vs Pakistan at Vizag on 05.04.05, none for 75 vs Pakistan at Ahmedabad on 12.04.05, 3 for 72 vs Pakistan at Delhi on 17.04.05, 1 for 79 vs Australia ot Hyd-RGS on 05.11.09, 1 for 81 vs Sri Lanka at Rajkot on 15.12.09 and 1 for 74 vs Sri Lanka at Rajkot on 18,12,09

Naved-ul-Hasan of Pakistan has conceded 70 plus runs on seven occasions which read thus – 3 for 73 vs India at Karachi on 13.03.04, 2 for 82 vs Zimbabwe at Peshawar on 03.10.04, 1 for 77 vs West Indies at Adelaide on 28.01.05, 1 for 75 vs England at Lahore on 10.12.05, none for 72 vs India at Lahore on 13.02.06, 2 for 92 vs South Africa at Centurion on 04.02.07 and 1 for 70 vs Australia at Perth on 29.01.10

Waqar Younis of Pakistan has conceded 70 plus runs on seven occasions which read thus – 4 for 73 vs England at Nottingham on 20.08.92, 2 for 73 vs Sri Lanka at Centurion on 04.12.94, 3 for 70 vs New Zealand at Auckland on 23.12.95, 1 for 73 vs South Africa at Durban on 03.04.98, 2 for 86 vs Sri Lanka at Benoni on 15.04.98, 1 for 77 vs Sri Lanka at Tangier on 14.08.02 and 2 for 71 vs India at Centurion on 01.03.03

JM Anderson has conceded 70 plus runs on seven occasions which read thus – none for 72 vs Pakistan at Karachi on 15.12.05, none for 72 vs West Indies at Ahmedabad on 28.10.06, 1 for 78 vs West Indies at Birmingham on 04.07.07, none for 79 vs India at The Oval on 05.09.07, 1 for 86 vs New Zealand at Napier on 20.02.10, none for 75 vs Australia at Lord’s on 03.07.10 and 3 for 74 vs Bangladesh at Nottingham on 08.07.10

JM Anderson became the first bowler outside the subcontinent to concede seventy plus runs on seven occasions in one day games. He is also the first England bowler to suffer such an ignominy, SJC Broad is the other England bowler to concede seventy plus runs on five occasions.
