No day’s play in a test due to rain or otherwise on Indian soil
The first day’s of play was washed out in the test between India and New Zealand at Bengaluru to provide the 36th occasion of a day’s play washed out in a test on Indian soil. The list also includes the fifth day of the test called off at Bangalore between India and West Indies in 1978-79 due to the fear of riot consequent upon the arrest of the then Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi
