Match No 18 : Lions vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Johannesburg on 21.09.10 : Royal Challengers Bangalore won by six wickets

With this win, RCB became the first IPL team to enter Semi finals of CLT20 tournament.

This was the fourth win for RCB in the tournament which read thus – won by 80 runs vs Otago at Bangalore on 12.10.09, won by 08 wickets vs Delhi at Bangalore on 17.10.09, won by 09 wickets vs Wayamba at Centurion on 12.09.10 and won by 06 wickets vs Lions at Jo’burg on 21.09.10

With four wins in the tournament RCB became the fifth team to win four or more games. Other teams are – NSW {05}, Trinidand & Tobago {05}, Victoria {04} and South Australia {04}

There were two run outs in Lions’ innings – VB van Jaarsvled for 24 and ND McKenzie for 39 – providing the 51st and 52nd occasion of a batsman dismissed run out in the tournament.

At the end of this game Lions have five batsmen dismissed run outs in the tournament. It became the third team to have five or more run outs. Others are – Trinidad and Tobago {05} and NSW {05}

ND Mckenzie was run out for the second occasion in the tournament. He was run out for 15 against South Australo at Centurion on 12.09.10. He became the eigth batsman to be run out on two occasions in the tournament. Others are – D Ganga of Trinidad & Tobago, DA Warner of NSW, HMRKB Herath of Wayamba, KD Karthik of Delhi, NT Brown of Otage and DJ Bravo {once of Tri & Tob and once for Mumbai}

R Cameron was dimissed for duck in this game providing the 53rd occasion of a batsman scoring a duck in the tournament. He became the 48th batsman to suffer such an ignominy

MK Pandey and R Dravid added 53 runs for the first wicket in this game providing the 63rd occasion of batsmen posting fifty plus runs partnership in the tournament. This stand also provides the 18th occasion of a fifty plus runs partnership for the first wicket and the ninth such occasion by RCB batsmen in the tournament

With his 33 runs in this game, R Dravid has an aggregate of 234 runs in the tournament. He now occupies the third place among the batsmen who have scored 200 plus runs in the tournament. JP Duminy {281} and KA Pollard {273} are the other two batsmen who have scored more runs than R Dravid. DJ Hussey {225}, M Klinger {213}, LRPL Taylor {208}, DA Warner {207} and PJ Huhges {202} are the other batsman to total 200 plus runs in the tournament

RV Uthappa was run out for 7 in RCB’s innings providing the 53rd occasion of a batsman dismissed run out in the tournament. He is the second RCB batsman to be dismissed run out. The first batsman was R Draivd who was run out for 28 against Cape Cobras at Bangalore on 08.10.09

RV Uthappa became the third wicket keeper batsman to be dismissed run out in the tournament. Others are – KD Karthik of Delhi for 6 against Victoria at Delhi on 09.10.09 and S Ramdin of Tri & Tob for 27 against NSW at Hyd-RGS on 16.10.09

RV Uthappa held to two catches in this game and he has an aggregate of five dismissals in the tournament. He became the fourth wicket keeper to effect five or more dismissals. Others are – MS Dhoni of CSK {09}, MS Wade of Victoria {08} and GA Manou of South Australia {05}
