Match No 12 : Bangalore Brigadiers (U) vs Mysore Maharaajas at Bangalore on 21.09.10 : Mysore Maharaajas won by five runs

Bangalore Brigadiers who won the toss and opted to field lost the match by five runs. Mysore Maharaajas put up a total of 130 for 8 and defended it by restricting Bangalore Brigadiers to 125 for 7.

Mysore’s innings was built around the useful contributions from wicket keeper batsman N Bhille {27} and skipper CJ William {37}, S Manager {21} and HTS Rao {16}. N Bhille and CJ Williams added 36 runs for the third wicket before Bhille was run out. CJ Williams forged 42 runs for the fourth wicket in the company of S Manager. These two partnerships were the substance of Mysore’s total.

N Bhille’s 27 came of 28 balls and had two fours in it. He was at the crease for 33 minutes. CJ William’s 37 came of 33 balls in a stay of 48 minutes at the crease and contained four fours. S Manager did not hit a four or a six in his 27 which came of 22 balls in a stay of 35 minutes

Z Farooqi {2 for 23}, MA Khan {2 for 20} were the successful bowlers for the Brigadiers.

Brigadiers started on a confident note with S Ibrez scoring 12 of the 15 runs that they put up for the first wicket. S Ibrez struck one four and a six. KL Rahul and skipper DA Chougule propped up the innings with a stand worth 41 runs for the second wicket. N Shekawat {16} and M Vinod {24} were the other contributors to the total. With M Vinod departing at 123 with eight balls left, Brigadiers could not reach the target as they lost one more wicket at 125 to the fifth ball of the last over.

DA Chougule’s 35 came in 35 balls and contained three fours. He was at the crease for 64 minutes. KL Rahul scored his 21 in 46 minutes and faced 33 deliveries. He hit one boundary four in his innings. M Vinod’s essay of 24 contained three sixes in 13 balls.

C Raghu was the most successful bowler with 2 for 14 for Mysore team. CS Raghavendra, AB Sagar, T Muthanna and AA Kazi captured a wicket each
