First Test – Third day

BB McCullum scored fifty {65} which represent the 127^th occasion of a New Zealand bowler scoring a fifty against India. His knock represents the 34^th occasion of a New Zealand batsman scoring a fifty against India. It is BB McCullum’s first fifty on Indian soil and represents his 17th half century of his test career. At the end of his innings, his run aggregate stood at 2927

LRPL scored fifty {56} which represent the 128^th occasion of a New Zealand bowler scoring a fifty against India. His knock represents the 35^th occasion of a New Zealand batsman scoring a fifty against India. It is LRPL Taylor’s first fifty on Indian soil and represents his tenth half century of his test career. At the end of his innings, his run aggregate stood at 1997 and is three runs shy for his 2000 career runs.

BB McCullum and LRPL Taylor added 104 runs for the third wicket in this test to provide the 45^th occasion of New Zealand batsmen posting a three figure stand against India. This stand also represents the tenth occasion of New Zealand batsman posting a three figure partnership for the third wicket against India.

MS Dhoni effected the 24^th stumping of his test career, when he stumped BB McCullum of PP Ojha for 65. Coupled with 128 catches, MS Dhoni has an aggregate of 152 victims.

BB McCullum became the 14^th New Zealand batsman to be dismissed stumped against India. He is the fifth New Zealand batsman to be dismissed stumped after scoring a fifty. Harbhajan Singh has taken 34 wickets against New Zealand as the third day of Ahmedabad test. He is on par with SP Gupte who also has captured 34 wickets against New Zealand. Others to capture more than 34 wickets are – BS Bedi {57}, EAS Prasanna {55}, A Kumble {50} and S Venkataraghavan {36}

BB McCullum’s stumped dismissal in this test provides the 93^rd occasion of a New Zealand batsman dismissed stumped in a test innings. It is the second occasion for BB McCullum dismissed stumped in a test innings, the first occasion was against Australia at Brisbane for 10 in Nov 2004.

JD Ryder and KS Williamson added 194 for the fourth wicket in this test to provide the 46^h occasion of New Zealand batsmen posting a three figure stand against India. This stand also represents the fifth occasion of New Zealand batsman posting a three figure partnership for the fourth wicket against India. JD Ryder and KS Williamson added 194 runs for the fourth wicket in this test to provide the first occasion of New Zealand batsmen posting a three figure stand against India for he fourth wicket and represents the record stand for the fourth wicket on Indian soil. Previous best was 91 runs between NJ Astle and SB Styris at Ahmedabad in Oct 1993

KS Williamson scored fifty {87*} in this test to become the 40^th New Zealand batsman to score a fifty on test debut. He became the sixth New Zealand batsman to score a fifty on debut against India.
