GS Chappell of Australia {6.0-3-5-0}, GD McGrath of Australia {6.0-2-5-1} are the other two bowlers apart from HMRKB Herath who have bowled exact six overs and conceded fives runs in a test innings.

Sri Lanka gained a first innings lead of 150 runs when they were all out for 240 runs. Umar Gul {4 for 43} and Saeed Ajmal {4 for 87} were the main wicket takers for Pakistan. Saeed Ajmal registered his best innings figures when he returned with figures of 31.0-5-87-4 in this innings. He was playing his second after making his debut at Galle, in the first test of the series.
Umar Gul at the end of this has an aggregate of 82 wickets, the most by a bowler in the playing eleven of both the teams in the on going second test.
DPMD Jayawardene has an aggregate of 1000 boundary fours at the end of his first innings in test. He is the first Sri Lankan batsman to achieve the feat.

Sri Lanka carved its first home series win against Pakistan when they won this test by
seven wickets. This test witnessed an astonishing collapse of the Pakistan batting order. They were 285 for one and lost the remaining nine wickets for the addition of 35 runs. This collapse represents the least number of runs added when a side has lost nine wickets. The previous best was 49 runs by India against Pakistan at Brabourne Stadium, Bombay. India who were 301 for one were all out for 350.
Fawad Alam who was 102 not out at the end of the second day’s play was finally dismissed for 168. His knock represents the 19th occasion of a batsman registering 150 plus runs on test debut.
