OA Shah took his T20 aggregate runs to 3827 with his 52 in this game. He now stands third in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in T20 games. Others are – DJ Hussey {4384} and BJ Hodge {4355}

 

This game was BJ Hodge’s 150th T20 game. He became the third cricketer to appear in 150 plus T20 games after DJ Hussey {177} and JA Morkel {174}

 

Match No 27 – Delhi Daredevils vs. Pune Warriors at Delhi on 21.04.12 – Pune Warriors won by 20 runs

 

V Sehwag’s 57 in this game represent his eighth fifty as captain in IPL. He became the fourth captain to score eight or more fifties in IPL. Others are – SR Tendulkar {11}, AC Gilchrist {10} and MS Dhoni {08}

Punjab’s win in this game with three balls to spare provide the third occasion of Punjab winning a game with three balls to spare in IPL. Punjab became the second team to win a game with three balls to spare on three occasions in IPL after Bangalore.

 

SE Marsh’s 68 not out in this game represent his 14th fifty in IPL. He now shares the record of most fifties in IPL along with JH Kallis. JH Kallis has also scored 14 fifties. SE Marsh went past SK Raina who has scored 13 fifties on his way to equal JH Kallis’s record for most fifties in IPL

DJ Hussey took his T20 runs aggregate to 4405 with his 21 in this game. He became the first batsman in T20 games to score 4400 runs. He holds the record for most runs in T20 games.

SE Marsh’s T20 aggregate at the end of this game stood at 2506 which includes his 68 not out in this game. He became the 19th batsman in T20 game to total 2500 runs.

S Dhawan’s 50 in this game represent his eighth fifty and was in a losing cause providing the 136th occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in IPL. It also represents the 23rd occasion of a Deccan Chargers batsman’s fifty going in vain.

 

It is interesting to note that Deccan Chargers’s batsmen have most fifties going in vain in IPL – 23 occasions. They are closely followed by Punjab which has 19 occasions of batsmen’s fifty going in vain.

PA Patel was dismissed run out in this game providing the 25th occasion of a wicket keeper batsman dismissed run out in IPL. He became the first Deccan Chargers wicket keeper batsman to be dismissed run out in IPL

 

PA Patel owns the record for most occasions of wicket keeper batsman dismissed run out in IPL. He was dismissed run out on three occasions – interestingly enough – representing three different teams on each occasion – Chennai, Kochi and Deccan. Other wicket keeper batsmen who have been dismissed run out on two occasions are – AC Gilchrist, Kamran Akmal, KC Sangakkara, KD Karthik, L Ronchi, MS Dhoni and NV Ojha. Match No 30 : Rajasthan Royals vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore at Jaipur on 23.04.12 – Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 46 runs

 

AC Gilchrist and R Dravid are the only two captains in IPL to score fifties for a team and against a team. AC Gilchrist while leading Deccan Chargers scored a fifty against Punjab and while leading Kings Eleven Punjab he scored fifty against Deccan Chargers. R Dravid while leading Bangalore against Rajasthan and scored a fifty while leading Rajasthan against Bangalore. Their performances are listed below

 

Match No 31 – Pune Warriors vs. Delhi Daredevils at Pune-SRS on 24.04.12 – Delhi Daredevils won by eight wickets

 

V Sehwag scored 87 not out in this game which represent his 12th fifty in IPL. He became the sixth batsman to score 12 or more fifties in IPL. Others are – JH Kallis {14}, SE Marsh {14}, SK Raina {13}, G Gambhir {12} and RG Sharma {12}

 

V Sehwag’s IPL run aggregate read 1620 at the end of this game including his 87 not out in this game. He became the seventh batsman to total 1600 runs in IPL.

 

V Sehwag’s 87 not out in this game represent his ninth fifty as captain in IPL. Other captains to score nine or more fifties are – SR Tendulkar {11} and AC Gilchrist {10}.

This match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rein. This is the fifth occasion of a match being abandoned without a ball being bowled in IPL.

 

Match No 33 – Kings Eleven Punjab vs. Mumbai Indians at Mohali on 25.04.12 – Mumbai Indians won by four wickets

 

Mumbai won this game by four wkts with one ball to spare providing the sixth   occasion of team emerging victorious with a ball to spare in IPL.

 

JC Franklin was appearing in his 100th T20 game to become the 47th cricketer in the history of T20 game to play 100 T20 games.

 

DJ Hussey’s 68 not out in this game was his 25th half century. He became the second batsman in the history of T20 games to score 25 plus half centuries. BJ Hodge is the other batsman to score 29 half centuries.

 

DJ Hussey’s four boundary fours in this game gave him an aggregate of 302 boundary fours in T20 games. He became the eighth batsman to score 300 plus boundary fours in IPL.

 

DJ Hussey’s T20 run aggregate stood at 4473 which includes his 68 not out in this game. He continues to hold the record for most runs in T20 games. He is closely followed by BJ Hodge who has amassed 4365 runs

 

Match No 34 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs. Chennai Super Kings at Bangalore on 25.04.12 – Match abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain

 

This match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rein. This is the sixth occasion of a match being abandoned without a ball being bowled in IPL.

This is the first game to be abandoned after the toss, while the previous five games were abandoned without toss

 

As per ICC guidelines this game was treated as a No Result game as the match was called off after the toss. This game was the second No result game in IPL after the Delhi-Pune game at Delhi on 21.05.11

SC Ganguly’s aggregate runs as captain in IPL read 990 including his 21 in this game. He requires ten more runs for his 1000 runs as captain in IPL.

 

SC Ganguly was playing his 50th IPL innings in this game. At the end of this game, his run aggregate stood at 1231.

He became the ninth batsman in T20 games to score 300 plus boundary fours. RG Sharma’s lone catch in this gave him a total of 33 catches in IPL, while DPMD Jayawardene’s two catches in this game gave him a total of 26 catches. The top three catchers in IPL are – SK Raina {35}, RG Sharma {33} and DPMD Jayawardene {26}. DPMD Jayawardene went past AB de Villiers, V Kohli and JH Kallis who had pouched 25 catches each on his way to occupy the third position.

PP Chawla failed to score in this game providing the sixth occasion of his collecting a duck in IPL. Other batsmen who have collected six or more ducks in IPL are – A Mishra {07}, SK Warne {07}, M Manhas {06}, P Kumar {06}, PA Patel {06} and AC Gilchrist {06}.

 

PP Chawla with his two wickets in this game has now an aggregate of 68 wickets in IPL. He now occupies the second place amongst the most wicket takers in IPL. The first place is held by SL Malinga who has an aggregate of 72 wickets. PP Chawla went past RP Singh who has an aggregate of 67 wickets on his way to second place.

 

DJ Hussey and JA Morkel occupy the first and second place amongst the cricketers who have played most T20 games. This was the 180th game for DJ Hussey and 176th game for JA Morkel. DJ Hussey became the first cricketer to appear in 180 T20 games.

He became the fifth batsman to total 1500 runs representing a single team in IPL. RP Singh became the second bowler in IPL to concede 1700 plus runs. At the end of this game he has conceded 1714 runs. IK Pathan is the other bowler who has conceded 1751 runs and holds the record for most runs leaked in IPL.

RG Sharma’s lone boundary six in this game gave him a total of 75 sixes in IPL. He became the fifth batsman to score 75 plus sixes in IPL. Others are – CH Gayle {95}, AC Gilchrist {84}, SK Raina {82} and YK Pathan {76}

Raina became the first batsman to tatal 2000 runs in IPL. He reached the milestone when he was on 34 during his knock of 44 in this game. At the end of this game, his run aggregate stood at 2010.

 

SK Raina became the third batsman to score 800 plus runs at a specific venue in T20 games. At the end of this game, he has an aggregate of 807 runs at Chepauk. Other batsmen to perform such a feat are – V Sehwag of Delhi – 855 runs at Delhi and V Kohli of Bangalore – 802 at Bangalore

Mumbai won this game on the last ball of the match providing the 13th occasion of a team winning the game on the last ball of the match in IPL.

 

Mumbai’s win on the last ball of the match in this game gave it fourth such win in IPL. Now Mumbai has the record for most such wins in IPL. Chennai and Mumbai held the record jointly with three such wins.

Chennai and Kolkata share the record for losing most games on the last ball of the match. Both the teams have lost three games. Chennai’s loss in this game was its third loss.

SR Tendulkar and RG Sharma added 126 runs for the second wicket in this game to provide the 68th occasion of a three figure partnership in IPL. This stand also represents the 20th occasion of a three figure partnership for the second wicket

This game was the 150th game for OA Shah in T20 games. He became the fourth batsman in the history of T20 games to appear in 150 or more games. Others are – DJ Hussey {182}, JA Morkel {179} and BJ Hodge {154}

 

Rajasthan won its 36th game in IPL. It became the fifth team two win 36 plus games in IPL. Other teams are – Chennai {42}, Mumbai {40}, Delhi {36} and Bangalore {36}.
