V Kohli has scored 198 boundary fours at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. He needs two more boundary fours for his 200 boundary fours. If he scores them,then he would become the first batsman in  the history of Twenty20 games to score 200 boundary fours on a single ground.

SK Raina and RG Sharma share the second place in the list of batsmen who have scored most boundary sixes in the Indian Premier League. Both the batsmen have scored 167 boundary sixes. One more boundary six would fetch SK Raina his 168th boundary six and he would occupy the second place. The first place is occupied by CH Gayle who has scored 262 boundary sixes

V Kohli has pouched 58 catches in the tournament prior to the start of today’s game. He needs two more catches which would fetch him 60 catches. If he gets them, then he would become the sixth fieldsman in the history of Indian Premier League to pouch 60 plus catches. Others are – SK Raina {85}, AB de Villiers {69}, RG Sharma {65}, KA Pollard {62} and DJ Bravo {60}

Royal Challengers Bangalore would be playing its 148th IPL game today when they meet Gujarat Lions at Bangalore. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians share the record for playing most games in the tournament – Both the teams would have played 148 IPL games at the end of this game.

SK Raina has scored 589 boundary fours in T20 games. He needs eleven more boundary fours for his 600 boundary fours. If he gets them, he would then become the twelfth batsman in the history of T20 games to score 600 plus boundary fours. The following table lists all of them

IPL 500th game – miscomputation – abandoned games without toss are taken into account while computing

IPL 500th game – miscomputation – abandoned games without toss are taken into account while computing

We are reproducing an article posted on this portal in IPL 2015 when commentators and the statistician assisting the commentators on the day of the match miscounted the  number of IPL games without taking into account the number of six abandoned games.

Some of the Commentators while commenting on IPL had labeled the second game of 03rd May 2015 – between Rajasthan and Delhi at Mum-BS as 500th IPL Game. It’s a wrong computation.  They have counted the fixtures of IPL and not the actual games. There were six abandoned games which should not be taken into account as these games were abandoned without a ball being bowled. Hence the game under question was 494th game of IPL. Furnishing below the table in which I have arrived second game of 03.05.15 as 494th IPL game
